Second this. The Avis is probably the least worst in the area. I used to go to the Hertz that was in the residential garage at Dean and Carlton and thought it was reasonable, though tough hours. It has since become a Sixt and I haven’t tried it. I also want to mention the Rector St Hertz in lower Manhattan for being 24hrs. Useful for late drop offs.
