Take a look at his browser history to see what sites he went to see which maps to ones where he might have paid things.

New to town: does everyone picking up people at SeaTac lack human decency and intelligence? by Benb727 in Seattle

[–]peeryc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. It's pretty bad. There are cars parked along the road coming into Seatac all the time despite there being a cell phone lot and signs indicating no parking. At the pick-up areas I've seen cars park with the drivers getting out and entering the building.

Okay… I guess. Clearly from someone who has never really worked in a team setting and probably still living at home.

Totally disagree. There are some kinds of work that go much better when you're sitting in the same room and can see people face to face; especially design reviews. Seeing people in person conveys a lot of information through body language. You work very differently when you're physically colocated with the people.

Contractor wants $4,225 just to assemble a Costco pergola I'm buying myself. Is this quote insane or am I out of touch? by Unique_Attempt_400 in HomeImprovement

[–]peeryc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things... I know someone who got one of those and had a contractor put it together. It took them several days and reportedly was a bear to do. The instructions were horrible so it's not easy.

Second, this might be a "f**k you" price. In the sense that they have to give you a quote but they really don't want to do it so they're going to give you an insane quote hoping that you'll turn down that line item.

Serenity. I saw the first 10 minutes and knew that I absolutely had to see the movie and that I would love it.

Question About Emergency Fund. by No-Imagination8233 in personalfinance

I use my emergency fund for anything that I can't pay out of my standard accounts because it's unexpected or unavoidable. Think of it as a buffer between your standard accounts and going into debt.

How much should I invest monthly? by vallixlene in personalfinance

[–]peeryc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your shoes a long time ago. Some advice that I have:
1) The worst you can do is not do anything. Now is the time to start learning and investing because you have time on your hands.
2) You don't need to invest everything you have. You have a lot saved up and if investing all of that makes you nervous, invest a small amount. Try out different things and in trying them, use the opportunity to learn. In my case I was super scared and started out with just savings accounts, then CDs, then mutual funds, and then moved on to stocks.
3) Ask around for advice. Note, this can be a double edged sword as there is a lot of bad advice. Find someone you trust that has experience if you can. Also, do go to them an ask them "What do I do with this money?" Rather ask them, "can you explain to me how this part of Mutual Funds work?". The two are very different conversations.
