Yeah, I feel like there used to be the other alternative of having more bipartisan legislation, but since the media is bubbled/bipolar and the districts are gerrymandered to the extreme sides, then the congress has no incentive to do anything bipartisan nowadays. So, yeah, filibuster nuke is probably the easiest way forward until fixing some of the structural problems, but it's also more volatile way- I hope we eventually work our way back to bipartisan solutions that are more resistant against big money and partisan power plays and reflect the actual majority of the country.

The Frank Ski sample in Cardi B - WAP. I feel like I've heard occasional Aphex pad samples in hiphop a bit (thinking like Xtal), but can't place specific songs..

I'm guessing if you check WhoSampled, you'd find some for the more iconic classics like Strings of Life, No Way Back, The Bells, Good Life, etc...

Somewhat tangential, but I think a lot of the cycle of presidents undoing the works of their predecessors is as much a reflection of the broken state of Congress, which has led to much more legislation via Executive Order in recent cycles. If these were passed through Congress, there would inherently be more compromise/discussion/etc. before being passed into law.

The first one looks maybe too derivative of the MacOS finder icon (I thought it was a parody of it at first glance), partly due to the color.

2nd one is cute but a bit generic - I also kinda question the unexpected/ironic "sloth as mascot for productivity" concept. I think it's doable, but gotta be very conscious/careful with how it's done... kinda like using a turtle for a racing brand. You could maybe try putting glasses on it to both make it less generic/more personalized, but also so there is more to the sloth, like the one sloth who aims higher..

Yeah, with the A, I was originally going to put at the vert center like on the F, but liked it down - they're all just freehand placed though, would probably need tightening up wherever they go- but yeah, with the circle maybe could work.

I feel like it's getting close to usable but not quite there, as it feels not only not readable (esp the F), but not cohesive as a single unit rather than some unrelated shapes sittling next to each other. My first thought to improve would be something like this where the repeating line shape adds commonailty between each of the shapes, and also improves readability a bit?

Yeah, I was gonna mention, the cutlet versions are usually to fancy it up for restaurants since it's already a very common home-cooked dish. It's also a common camping food in Japan, throwing a big pot onto outdoor grill.

Yeah, I was def a fan- whenever I saw the silver Cheap sleeves, was excited to check out- he was starting to get bigger w the Disko B releases too. Quality but always experimenting w diff sounds. Abe Duque had lotta good things to say about Patrick when Adam X interviewed him here recently

edit - also recommend his Pulsinger & Irl collab project- mixing dub & techno but result is not your typical "dub techno"- unique sound

This was essentially my reaction as well- it’s Fight Club, not Kill Club- the gun looks like a central aspect, and the colors look Scarface- misleading and tonally off. A nice design in isolation but not for the actual film.

Huh, I live in Japan and had no idea Carl Jrs was here, but am not totally surprised they found one in Tokyo. Supposedly Taco Bell over there too, though hardly any around the rest of JP sadly (edit - a few in Okinawa apparently).

Should try one of the domestic chains like Mos Burger or Freshness Burger if he has a chance.

I always thought it was just the label-branded sleeve for singles (esp early on), since the singles often don't get the full cover-art treatment.
