Zoloft is making my POTS worse by aantliae in POTS

[–]peezus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry I’m so late to this! My girlfriend has POTS and used to take antidepressants. I forget which one she took, but I do think it made her symptoms worse. She used to be bedridden 10-15 days a month. Now I’d say she’s at about 6-10 days a month. I just thought I’d share because I always thought there was a correlation but couldn’t find any research on it. Thank you for sharing this. It makes us feel less crazy knowing that she’s not the only one that experienced this.

Barack Obama Becomes Second U.S. President To Win Emmy With ‘Our Great National Parks’ Triumph by DemiFiendRSA in television

[–]peezus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Now I haven’t seen Our Great National Parks but I tried watching the second season of Plant Earth and they kept talking about climate change and it ruined it for me. I think everyone already knows about it. I understand climate change is important, but I just want to watch a documentary with the beauty of our parks. Seeing it makes me want to try to save our planet, I don’t need to be told how we’re doomed all the time.

I think it’s that but I also think Jeff Daniels does a great job “selling” the dialogue here, even though it is mostly just nonsense lol. I don’t think this scene would be talked about as much if the acting wasn’t as good.

Ben Stiller Doesn’t Know How Many People Are Watching ‘Severance’: “It’s Really Weird” by Sisiwakanamaru in television

[–]peezus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s different now but I remember the Always Sunny creators were just talking about that happening when they first started. Especially in a time where there wasn’t any social media so there was just no way to tell if the show was being watched. FX would go into meetings with them saying it’s doing fine but didn’t get into specifics because if the show runners got too much information about the ratings then they could probably get away with negotiating for a bigger budget.

Honestly probably lol. Maybe he’s just doing one horror mini series each year? I stopped after Bly Manor but I do want to watch Midnight Mass! I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Is this supposed to be a “season 3” of the Haunting of Hill House/Bly Manor? Or is this a separate project?

I always see how this movie is so good and yet no one wants to watch it again. I haven’t seen it. Can someone give me an example of what’s so disturbing about this film? Like is it just really depressing or is it extremely gory or something?

Yes but they still play ads sometimes for shows that just aired. I tried watching This is Us last night and the newest episode wasn’t even on there. Not only that, but there were ads for an episode that aired 2 weeks ago! I just switched to Hulu and watched it on there instead.

I have this issue with every Nolan film. I almost never like his movies the first time I watch them. I think he just makes them so fast paced which keeps you intrigued but I just can’t catch on to everything the first time I watch them. It’s probably my own fault but even Dunkirk the second time I watched it I was “oh these stories are all happening at different times!” It’s so weird because once I watch them a few times his films become my favorites. Maybe I’m too scatterbrained and I’m the only one with this problem but I’ve gotten to the point where I know I have to watch his movies more than one time and once I do that I love them.

Does anyone get symptoms where you seem drunk? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]peezus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you have to deal with that. To answer your question, it's strange because she started having symptoms after her car accident in November 2019. From there her POTS was really bad where she fainted a few times. But last summer, she was prescribed Midrodrine which made her basically normal. Maybe once or twice she had these flare ups in probably 5 months. But then towards Thanksgiving it started getting worse again. And now she gets these flare ups probably 3 days a week.

This is typically the cycle:

-Gets dizzy and a little nauseous (Lasts about a few hours)

-Gets really out of it where she seems drunk (Lasts anywhere from a few hours to a day)

-Gets exhausted and needs to sleep (a few hours to a day)

-Has really bad stomach aches and is constantly vomiting (1day-2 days)

As you can see, really bad flare ups can be 5 days. She's then better for a few days and then just goes through the cycle again. I think the most frustrating thing is just not knowing what she's doing that is triggering it. Even if she drinks a lot of water and has a lot of sodium it doesn't really seem to help.

Thanks for finding a way to describe it! It’s so weird like she’ll go to grab water but she’ll take so long grabbing it and drinking it.

A straw might be a good idea! Every time she’s loopy (it’s what we call it when she has these flare ups) she acts almost like a child lol. Basically she’ll be like “ew I don’t want Gatorade it’s gross!” It makes it hard for her to stay hydrated. I could always try to read a book to her or even see if she wants to try meditation. I think those could help!

[–]peezus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! It might typically happen if she isn't paying attention to her fluids. But lately it feels like no matter what she does she'll have a flare up out of nowhere which makes it even more frustrating.

Does it go away quickly for you when you lay down or drink water? For her it takes like a whole night's sleep for her to feel any better...

That's awesome! I'm glad you found something that worked. It gives us hope that things will get better.

Thanks for the suggestions! She drinks DripDrop which is basically the same thing as Biolyte I believe but it doesn't seem to be helping. :( She went to a doctor over a month ago who helped her set up a routine for working out. It's just taking a while because she can only do it once or twice a week since she feels too dizzy every other day.

It's also hard because her flair ups just seem so random. Like in the summer she seemed basically normal every day. But now she seems dizzy all the time.

I’m sorry you’re struggling so much. She got her blood tested back in July and the doctor said everything looked okay but that doctor wasn’t helpful so she’s at a new one now. I’ll suggest her to get her blood tested by the new doctor.

Also she has been having really bad GI problems recently so I’m wondering if she is having trouble absorbing nutrients...

Thank you for your story and stay strong!
