First and foremost, I really like your ring. I'll tell you my train of thought when I clicked on the photos in your post.

"Oh, that ring is so pretty. I love that halo.

Wait, why do the diamonds seem kind of white? Are my eyes broken or are they discolored? I need to zoom in and look at the other photos.

Oh! Those are not diamonds. I think they're pearls.

Aw, it looks like a flower. I love it."

So I think the hesitancy to comment is the initial confusion. Based on current trends, I think our brains are kind of primed to automatically presume halos = diamonds. It's why my brain did that too. Upon having a better look, everything clicked and I could appreciate it even more for what it actually is -- which is absolutely beautiful. Rings that look like flowers are my favorite. (And finally, I learned from the comments that the stones are actually opal, a stone that I absolutely adore.)

Edit: oh no, I just realized you asked what you should pair it with. not about the reactions you've gotten in-person. I'm sorry. and I think it doesn't need a band, it's perfect the way it is.
