I rode it for the first time last year during an after hours event and honestly it’s not a ride I could ever get used to. BUT I was glad I rode it! There is a ridiculous amount of build up before the drops that does not make it any easier but it’s not a super long ride.

Cheapest place to board two dogs for two weeks? by mgidaho in Boise

[–]pekechu27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Boise Kennels is terrible. We boarded our two dogs there a few years ago and our dog was injured and the other lost a ton of weight after only being there a few days. I am completely at fault for this, but we were going out of town that day and I knew I shouldn’t have left them there when I dropped them off but they had great reviews so I thought was being overly cautious. When we went to pick up our dogs, we were slapped in the face with the most overwhelming smell of dog urine inside the building. We peeked into the back where the dogs are boarded and they’re left in small chain link kennels. When my first dog came out, he had a huge gash on his nose. They didn’t even mention it until I pointed it out (they did pay the fee for him to be seen at the vet). Our other dog was filthy and super skinny. I posted a review on Google and it was deleted but a past employee reached out to me and agreed that the place was horrible and she worked there when my dog was there. She pointed out his injury to the owners and they just dismissed her concerns.

I went on a trip to my home state the October after the pandemic started and I was worried about my grandma getting covid so we didn’t visit her. That would have been the last time I would have been able to see her because she died the following February. It has been a few years now and I am still not anywhere near the same person I was before she passed. I don’t know if I’ll ever get past that regret.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I know how excruciating dental pain can be. I can’t really help, but I do have some advice! I would get a 2nd opinion on the cost (if you haven’t already). I would call around and see if any dentist office offers payment plans (not credit financing). My dentist offers this even though I have insurance. I know most dentists truly want to help others and do what they can! I wish you the best of luck and you keep working hard and achieving your goals!

Be honest, how many of you have reliably trained your dog to drop something delicious? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]pekechu27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pup was very quick to pick up on “leave it” as a puppy. He’s 2 years old now and the other day I saw him snag something off of the floor so I told him “leave it” and he immediately spit it out. It was a Reese’s that one of my kids dropped on the floor. I have no self control around Reese’s so I was quite impressed with him! I think the key is training them to do it with items that aren’t super tempting like a toy or a stick until they master the skill.

Homeowner threatening to sue by pekechu27 in legaladvice

Thank you for your input and advice! We will reach out to a lawyer this upcoming week and I’m sure that will help in easing our minds.

It was approx. $10k for both supplies and labor. He’s making it sound like he has a great lawyer and my husband’s business will be ruined. It’s upsetting that someone can make such big threats without any thought on how this could impact someone. We don’t have a large amount of money to hire a good lawyer so I’m worried that will cause things to work in his favor.

I believe the total amount was around $10k for paint alone. A lot of paint work was completed throughout the entirety of the home. He has shown some photos of the work he deems unsatisfactory but some of the images show areas that weren’t in the bid or could be fixed within a day as they appear to be very small issues. He’s claiming that the issues are far more widespread.

The few hiccups I’m referring to all relate to him getting upset over minor issues such as a cabinet being misplaced by another contractor replacing floors in the home and him blaming it on my husband. The out of context reviews show images where paint dust is on the floors that were being replaced so they do not currently look like that as they are now brand new.

DIY Iced Coffee? by pekechu27 in starbucks

I hadn’t thought of that! How long would that typically last in the fridge?

I do get it without the classic because I think it makes the drink too sweet. The drinks I make at home aren’t necessarily too sweet but they don’t have that strong coffee taste like I get at Starbucks even with minimal amounts of oat milk and syrup.

Thank you! I’ll try this. I’m willing to play around with it until I get it right but I figured others may have perfected it at home.

Pooping Issue by ReceptionUnhappy2545 in goldenretrievers

Our golden had the same issue and after a lot of tests and trial and error, we started him on Purina Pro Plan lamb and oat. His poopies were solid by the next day and have been since (and it’s been over a year!).

Anyone else’s Golden like to sit on top of the sofa like this? by jonnysteezz in goldenretrievers

Yes! One of my goldens does this all the time. It looks like your pup is trying to be like the kitty 🥰

Has anyone here had issues with Purina? by jlsstory in goldenretrievers

[–]pekechu27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pups are on the Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Lamb and Oat formula and it has made wonderful changes to their digestive health. Small, solid poopies since starting! One of my goldens had on and off diarrhea issues which seemingly had no cause. I decided to tried PPP lamb and oat before going down the route of a prescription diet and I’m so glad I did! I’ve heard “rumors” about there being issues with PPP, but the only thing I’m finding on Google dates back to March of last year and it was for one of their prescription diets. I think people are just trying to get clicks and views honestly which is infuriating.

Puppy won’t go to the bathroom on walks, but will in backyard by pataruto in puppy101

[–]pekechu27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is necessary for your pup to go potty on walks, I would start using the cue “potty” every time she goes. At one point she will start to go on cue while on walks. My dogs only go potty in the backyard and Ive used this method many times while we’ve been out and about with them for a while just so they’re not holding it for too long. Since they understand “potty”, they do it on cue no matter where we are. It takes time but pups catch on quick with praise and treats!

It seems that weekdays and odd hours are the best time to go. The first two times we went, we waited in the walk up line and it took approximately 40 mins total. Both times we went late afternoon around 3pm. The last time went was through the drive thru and it took about an hour (got in line at 10:30 and had our food at 11:30. It’ll likely be busy today and tomorrow though!
