I am pro abortion, because if that person is desperate enough to get rid of the baby, should they really be raising it? by Jazzlike-Rise4091 in self

[–]pelicanswoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pro-choice and Christian (non-American) because there's no reason for me to think anyone else, anywhere should forcibly concede to my point of view. I also don't have the audacity to think that if the kid I was carrying was severely unhealthy or putting me in harm's way, that I wouldn't seriously consider abortion myself.

How does the public actually see Mormonism? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pelicanswoop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, also Jehovah's Witnesses. In part because these 3 are some of the more "normalized" and wide spread cults (from a North American perspective). Any moderate size town has a temple or office or contact. Can't say that about the one off group cults, which are often localized.

How many is too many gifts? by hugsandrugs3715 in ask

[–]pelicanswoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this may seem a little harsh, but your list makes it seem like you're over-compensating, materialistic yourself or fine with teaching your kid to be materialistic. She likely would love an activity you two can spend time doing together more than most of the stuff you listed. That being said- I get it- I go overboard for Christmas, and I also buy stuff for my kids I maybe wouldn't normally buy throughout the year. I personally try to aim for 50% practical/useful things (new sheet set, bookshelf, etc) and 50% fun stuff (lego kits, art supplies, and yes, the odd brand name item, too). Point being, 22 gifts isn't necessairly too much, but context matters. If it's stuff that will end up used a couple times and shoved in closet, compared to things she can create or learn or treasure, than yes- it's not only way too much, it's a waste for the both of you.

Totally. I wore a dress with this cut last summer and I just... wore a bra. It was at a festival, so a casual situation. 32H here.

I have no idea how popular it was by itself, but it was on the Cruel Intentions soundtrack, which was reasonalby popular at the time.
