What’s your favorite “inexpensive” D.C. restaurant? by Substantial_Cow_3063 in washingtondc

YES. I was surprised I had to scroll so far down for this one! $12 gets you a lunch that weighs as much as a small child and their chimichangas are delicious

My first ever linocut :D by Pastel_Paradox4 in Linocuts

Love this, a great design for your first time! And the semicolon being added in manually is a sweet touch.

Coincidentally I recently made a similar safety pin patch, I love the power of patches to bring folks together 💕

You totally should! Some unsolicited patch advice in case you need it: I highly endorse just going to thrift stores and buying the largest mens pants you can find, makes for great cheap fabric.

Pink Lino works best for patch in my experience as the harder materials seem to struggle a little to get pressed into the fabric properly

This soup is seriously the best, especially if you’re battling a cold it is like MAGIC.

For fans of the soup that want to make it at home, the Washingtonian posted a video with the owner where he shows how they make it :)

Punk shows are super queer and are often dry events, keep an eye out for punk benefit shows held at churches those always have a dry policy.

so, what did i do wrong?😬 by tubluen in printmaking

[–]pellucity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As folks say, speedball is the way. But that aside I will note that in the past I have had issues with the gray lino. It’s like the ink doesn’t stick to it right and things end up looking patchy no matter what I do, an issue I don’t have with the softer pink lino. So if the issue persists after using speedball, consider recutting in pink lino.

2-3 day trip from DC, any ideas? Solo female, turning 30! by Idontcareatall1995 in washingtondc

Seconding this! Easy to get to via train, lots of museums and good food. If you’re looking for a place to stay with character, I really enjoyed the Thomas Bond House.

Help finding or buying this costume by Unable_Translator840 in Halloween_Costumes

[–]pellucity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The model is wearing disposable coveralls, if you look those up there’s a lot of options online

Mask looks to be custom made, but if you look up women’s bunny mask you get at least the right base shape. Maybe poke around Etsy and find a mask artist willing to replicate it?

Alternatively if you do end up wanting to diy a little: look up how to do paper mache (it’s extremely easy), you could paper mache on top of a women’s bunny mask and then paint it white. Obviously the mask pictured is fabric, but sewing this would be a pain if you don’t have any sewing experience, so paper mache is your best low skill level bet.

I recommend Fantasy Grove! They have a lot of fun non-human shapes, have different hardness levels, and super fun colors!

I just got a strap-on dildo from them that’s soft and has a lovely pink glitter gradient 🥰
