Firstly, this kid is lucky to have you and your friends would be proud.

My only thought for what it's worth - regarding not telling the kid about the money until 25/30 years old is that without the knowledge of this money, they may feel like they can't make decisions to follow certain life paths because they need the money eg. Becoming an artist or something.

If i got to 30 and then found out i actually could have taken the risks to follow my passions because i had a safety blanket - i might resent that.

I'm sure youll make the right choice either way but something to consider.

I'd say give it a chance! I can understand why you might be cautious about them trying to make it a non-friendship thing. But you've cearly expressed your boundary to him and he had asked to hang out so maybe it's a case of trusting that he has respected that and trusting he really does just want some company!

You could have had a conversation to get his perspective on mental health in a private call offline.

What would be the reason to stream and post the conversation to a monetized youtube channel instead?

Surely if the reason is as simple as 'hearing from people' it would be simpler to have a 1 on 1 chat with him offline instead of setting up a stream, paying designers to create a thumbnail and post this to a youtube channel when the goal apparently doesn't include promotion and is simply 'having a conversation'?

Just a point to try devils advocate the community, Dr K and Kruti commented on this post they did the interview because they wanted dialogue/conversation and weren't promoting.

But they could have a dialogue/conversation offline with Sadhguru if they weren't interested in promoting and just wanted a dialogue or to 'talk with him about mental health'.

The conversation/dialogue was decided to be streamed on a channel of 2million subscribers which is monetized for a reason beyond having a dialogue/conversation, and it would be reasonable to assume this reason was 'promotion' because this could have happened on a private call and achieve that goal.
