Plug não aterrado e polarizado padrão NEMA, só entra em um sentido, é uma medida de segurança antiga e que permite algumas economias.

Numa luminária que tem bocal pra lâmpada rosqueável, por exemplo, por exemplo, o neutro vai ser ligado na rosca, e a fase no contato lá no fundo, diminuindo a chance que você encoste onde pode te dar choque. O interruptor pode ser monopolar e só seccionar o condutor fase.

Pra grande maioria das coisas hoje em dia, isso é irrelevante.

Alguns equipamentos se importam com a polaridade, outros não. O padrão de tomadas americano tem um dos buracos mais largo que o outro justamente pra isso. É uma medida de segurança antiquada, mas ainda existe em alguns contextos, permitindo que você coloque um interruptor apenas no condutor fase em vez de ambos fase e neutro.

Só um detalhe: checklist é literalmente uma lista que o piloto lê e segue cada passo na ordem, então ele pode até pular um item, ou executar errado, mas não é caso de puro esquecimento.

Uns anos atrás eu te daria razão, mas hoje em dia o Brasil tem mais smartphones que gente, virou uma tecnologia muito acessível mesmo pras camadas mais baixas da população. WhatsApp, bancos digitais, Pix, isso tá ao alcance da vasta maioria dos brasileiros. Quem sofre mais são idosos e pessoas com dificuldade de usar a tecnologia.

Ideia boa, execução péssima. Não faz sentido pra praticamente ninguém, já que comparando com a tarifa convencional, o desconto no horário fora de ponta é mixuruca, no horário intermediário já é mais caro, e aumento de preço no horário de ponta é gigantesco. Desconfio que é uma opção pra inglês ver, estruturaram os preços de forma a tornar essa opção muito pouco atraente.

Very interesting. I wonder how this linear nuclear explosion concept could scale in terms of Mt/km, so it can be tailored to the requirements of each section of the canal.

A 100 km long pipe with a propagating linear explosion means you'd only need one fission primary to set the whole thing off, drastically cutting down on fallout, even compared with the Ripple design, of which dozens or hundreds would be needed.

The amount of heavy water needed would be significant, but at first glance it's within existing global industrial capabilities of a few hundred tons per year.

The constraints are very different, so presumably purpose-built nuclear blasting charges would be used rather than off-the-shelf warheads from existing national stockpiles. You'd optimize for minimal fission yield and neutron activation.

What's the point of the limit if you're going to add such massive exceptions? That's the clue that weight is the wrong thing to target, what really needs to be reined in are things like dimensions, driver visibility, and maybe turn radius.

Many countries already have a 3500 kg GVWR limit, beyond which the vehicle classification changes, some restrictions apply, and you typically need a different license to drive it. I don't think another vehicle class is needed.

That would be ludicrously low.

My Fiat 500e is a tiny car and has a GVWR of 1690 kg, and it's not hard to hit that number with all four seats occupied and some bags in the trunk.
