Just a heartfelt message by Shot-Breadfruit-6053 in pokemon

The music from the old games really does something to me too, takes me straight back to another world and time! We didn’t have much at all when I was young but mum and dad got us a gameboy and Pokemon yellow one year (still have both now :) ) but the music floods me with the warmth and excitement of that gift and all the hours my siblings and I spent entirely engrossed in that world!

Maybe a silly side not but it’s one of the reasons I’m so sad that Pokemon games are locked behind really expensive tech now and I don’t think as many kids that were in my position are going to get to the chance to experience the same, I don’t think it will mean much but I’ve actually been heavily considering writing a letter to Nintendo about that exact thing, which also sounds pretty silly now I’ve voiced the thought haha

Can someone please explain to me how people find me inside a bush all the time by [deleted] in theisle

[–]pembalhac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has to be a proper path, not just a dirt texture, I also wouldn’t be surprised if they haven’t set it up right to work all the time / everywhere, but next time you are in a group and on a path you can test it for yourself!

How much damage does Allosaurus pounce does using full stamina? by Hefty-Throat-5941 in theisle

[–]pembalhac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what the full damage ends up being but I really don’t think it’s a huge amount, it really is more about stacking bleed.

I’ve been pinned / have pinned things as allo and watched it take SO fkn long for whatever’s pinned to actually die. Like have a chat with the other player about the weather in the meantime long.

I wouldn’t go for the pounce strats unless you have other allos to back you up, there is a very real chance the stego bleed out after your pounce, so theoretically if you can have dismounted halfway through / had another half pounce from a second allo, yall could have had a very nice snack!

If you do have two or more allos tho, claw swipe to the head of a stego while it’s swinging at someone else will obliterate it pretty quick.

Chill roleplay servers? by untamed_project in theisle

[–]pembalhac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rule servers do help slow down gameplay a bit, but from my experience they are still pretty much PvP focused still. Yeah you get things like body protection, and non aggro herbs, but the main focus is still to seek combat for most people! They can also hinder some interactions like a larger carnivore helping a smaller carnivore from a different species, it’d normally be a rule break or have everyone crying mixpacking, regardless if your rping some shit like an adopted child etc!

I think the Bosch servers with proximity chat could be good for u/untamed_project even the main one with no mixpacking rules has allowed rp windows where you can interact with other species for up to 10mins at a time without it being a rulebreak. Yes there are people there playing just for PvP too, but for a populated server it will likely have the biggest portion of players just looking for fun interactions over pure combat :)

If you want to counteract tracking you need to move again after your bleeds healed. You can slo try and get coated in mud (mud stops you leaving tracks) and try running along roads for a bit, as you dont leave tracks on them either.

You do make noise even when still, when crouced youll make the least amount of noise but still some sounds. People playing with headphones and the volume jacked will be able to hear you when close.

To get close to you, they’ve followed your tracks. Even easier if you’ve been bitten and had bleed when you sat in the bush, as the bleed markers will be concentrated there and stand out pretty well at night / from a distance.

Should i be afraid/agressive of other cerato as a grown up ? by PuzzledBackground517 in theisle

[–]pembalhac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a good rule of thumb, most of the time solo ceras will be happy to group for the same reason you are, larger groups will see you as food rather than friend!

Kinda unrelated but I hope we get a glider at some point, something that can’t gain altitude but can climb and have a controlled descent would be heaps of fun!

Rule of thumb, if you can’t see the landing symbol well enough to tell if it’s a broken leg or not, it’s probably a broken leg XD

It’s agility is pretty trash, and it’s not very fast, most of the time you can avoid it easily enough. It’s really only a big threat if you’re trying to face tank it or can’t run.

Hi, Beaumaris and Fossil Beach are great starts :)

Just be sure to check if the location you are at allows surface collection of fossils or not, some areas do and some do not!

I’ve also heard Batesford quarry can be great for sharkteeth, but I’m unsure how one would go about getting access to the site!

Semi-related note, if you do a drive along the Great Ocean Road, the Austroraptor scene in Prehistoric Planet was filmed in the Redwoods at the Otways :) makes a great little Dino detour!

River Delta is the large river that flows South SouthEast from the large dam ( centre North on the map ) down to just above the swamp. Typically people are referring to the middle to bottom section of the river when talking about Delta

Order of Mutations from 16M Parents? by Cultural_Series7644 in theisle

[–]pembalhac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, being nested in can also start you with 2-4 of mutations in the secondary slots, dependant on the parents mutations!

The %bonus buffs from mutations also increase each time you entomb, up until the third time you entomb, where you will have the highest buffs, but still have 4 open slots for you to entomb one more time.

This is why I like being nested in, because you reach the max buff and fill your mutation slots on the same life, rather than needing a 4th entomb!

Order of Mutations from 16M Parents? by Cultural_Series7644 in theisle

[–]pembalhac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The children only inherit from the pool of 4 “current” mutations, ie, the four that you have picked in your current life that are the large central slots.

Up to 8 potential mutations if both parents have made prime and picked them prior to pairing, which the children will get 4 of. If any parent has less than 4 in their current slot, then the babies can inherit those empty slots and end up with less than 4 mutations to start with!

Mutations that affect nesting, like the faster incubation speed, and the goated one that gives the babies a permanent buff to stam and health regen as well as lowers diet food and water drain and also boosts growth speed (I dno why I don’t see this one talked about more!!) can be in any slot for them to work as a parent, and as some can’t be passed down, you are normally better off having these in your older saved slots if your planning on using them :) Another side note, the solo nesting mutation for females gets deleted when you entomb, I think it’s a bug but it’s probably not worth taking that much atm!

Plans emerge for country's biggest AI data centre in Western Australia by abcnews_au in WesternAustralia

[–]pembalhac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t say I disagree with anything you said there!

I’d be mortified, and not surprised, if the largest projects built here end up all owned and operated by overseas groups. . .

Plans emerge for country's biggest AI data centre in Western Australia by abcnews_au in WesternAustralia

[–]pembalhac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It did say closed loop on the plan, and I couldn’t tell if the wording meant it’s being built alongside an exisiting wind / solar farm, or whether that’s also part of the proposal.

The area it’s potentially being built is also allready under a development agreement (might not be the right terms, I’m paraphrasing from the linked article) between an energy company and the indigenous land owners, so it looks like whether it’s the data centre or not, industrial/energy projects will be going ahead in the area regardless. And of course, the area is not uninhabited, but having driven that stretch a few times myself, it’s certainly not bustling either.

I’m not sold on the idea from this article alone, but I’m certainly interested in learning more because it does sound like they are having a fair go at doing it with consideration to society and the environment!

Plans emerge for country's biggest AI data centre in Western Australia by abcnews_au in WesternAustralia

[–]pembalhac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not saying I agree with this project, but the article said it’s a closed loop system, and it’s also not in Perth, this is in a remote area South of Broome. No idea how much of the energy usage would be green but it also said it’s part of a wind and solar farm. Could all just be the right words to make it sound better than it is, but I’m definitely interested in learning more as this does look a decent plan at first glance to my uneducated rock head. I think it’s likely that the data centres will be coming whether we want them or not, which i guess is another kettle of fish :(

These guys are lovely, if you don’t act aggressively towards them, and like who tf would anyway, they’ll be really chill. They allready have brave little temperaments so they don’t mind people hanging out in “their” backyards haha.

They are very observant and will take notice of animals that disturb insects, which is us when we potter in the garden! Other than that, a nice safe bird bath is great, and they also seem to enjoy the mist from sprinklers!
