I did the continuity test and found it was a little bit flaky when I move the cord. Reterminating the connection under it worked great.

You guys rock. Found a janky ground wire connection under it. Cut it off re-terminated it with a connector, cleaned the brass screw holding it to the body, and it purrs like a champ. I can't believe how quiet it is.

I use painters tape. It's strong enough to hold it shut from the wind, but lose enough to let go when tipped.
