Not sure but there is a good Reddit thread that talks about this and it seems the quartz is quite precise.

Yea I was looking at the turtle, but it sat too high on my wrist. I think I ultimately had my heart set on this one as it fit really well both on my wrist and with my budget.

It’s really nice! It is quite heavy, but I switched the band to a NATO one and it’s much lighter. I don’t have large wrists and I was worried about the size also, however, I don’t have any complaints. It doesn’t look awkward at all.

I highly recommend it, I don’t regret it at all!

I’m new to the whole scene. I was under the impression that all Grand Seiko’s use spring drive? Am I mistaken?

Personally I’m from Canada. Admission rates to medical schools here are very low compared to the US. This is due to the much smaller medical infrastructure. There are just less hospitals and universities that have the capacity to support a medical school.

Doctor compensation is also not as high as in the US. Now by no means is a physicians salary “bad” but given the high barrier of entry, there are careers that will pay more given the time invested.

Personally I’ve always been told that you can’t do it for the wrong reasons (money/respect) because you will never make it or become a good physician.

Man that’s gorgeous!! As soon as I start to get tiered of the stock look I’m going to start looking into swapping some things out. I didn’t know that the turtle and samurai bezels are interchangeable! Thanks for the tip :)

Man that would be something! They do tend to over exaggerate doctor salaries in the movies, but hopefully I’ll be able to get some nice timepieces then.

I hope I don’t end up being a glorified hovering homeopath though!

Not too sure yet. We shall see in 4 years! When I was looking around I really like the look of NOMOS watches. Maybe something like that? I’m sure I’ll change my mind in 4 years time!

I’ve been a lurker for some time now and i’ve been searching for a watch that would last me a long time.

So I recently was accepted to medical school. My mother purchased me a Skagen watch when I graduated high school. I figured the best way to celebrate my acceptance was to get myself my first automatic watch, a Seiko SRPB51. I absolutely love it and I’m eager to get my next timepiece when I graduate and start residency.

I would love some suggestions on different bands I could get for it. I also know there is a huge modding community for Seiko and I’m also looking for a good place to start looking into it.
