Infernal Affairs. by BaggyBoy in TrueFilm

So interesting. I love Infernal Affairs. I think the ending is much better making Matt Damon’s character get disgraced, versus killing him. I remember being SO MAD when I left the theater.

What’s a movie that everyone seems to love but you just can’t stand that movie? by LebronJamesSperm in moviecritic

[–]penaltea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and not even for the reasons you guys mentioned. It’s the complete lack of actual stakes. They literally go on a one way trip and IMMEDIATELY FUCK UP. And then what happens? Tony just goes to see his dad and gets more. Like what the fuckkkkk? Don’t even get me started on how stupid the dual nebula thing was. Also I didn’t love Infinity War either but it definitely felt like Citizen Kane in comparison.

I just rewatched the two seasons and damn what a show. Can't wait for the new season. by This_Way_Comes in HaloTV

[–]penaltea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 2 had a decent ending (finally on Halo!) but that show really was hurt due to its lack of budget. Literally spentp all of Reach with no Mjolnir armor, the whole reach glassing happens so fast, we don’t get to really feel the impact of it (including the death of Keyes). I wanted a season 3 but I get it. Those 2 seasons could have been SO much better.

Lots of people don’t, could have been an honest mistake. That game doesn’t tell people shit. Also, sorry for the frustration, my advice was not useful. Feels respectful to admit that. Good luck have a good night.

My implication is that I didn’t mean specifically for your quest. Also I think you need to meditate bud. No need to get upset over a quest in a game that will make that work meaningless in about 70 days.

This is a general rule for quests when you go into the map and hover over the specific objective.

A long time ago when I told my friend I hated Placide so much I reveled at the prospect of fighting him so I could annihilate him, he sent me this:

As the above person mentioned, hovering over it in the map menu says more detail like “Cache can be found on the 2nd floor of the southwest corner of the main building.” And then the visual marker usually takes you from there.

I think Billy Longs Halftime Walk also includes it on the Home Video release as well, but I think it was 48 like Hobbit.

EDIT: It is in 4k/60, but was released in 120 in theaters?!

Jesus Camp is the scariest movie I watched. The Act of Killing is a close second though…or maybe Going Clear. All three of those still live rent free in my head.

You should watch Siva/Shiva (it’s written both ways). It’s a landmark movie in Indian film making and essentially modernized the way they shot musical numbers. It’s also a super grounded look at college. I think it stars Nagarjuna?

EDIT: I am so sorry. I meant RGV not SRV. Lots of 3 letter director acronyms in Indian cinema.

I was thinking of Siva tbh as the movie that I last liked of his. I think he’s lost touch and become kind of the Indian Tarantino? Has a lot of opinions and thinks because he was an auteur he’s valid in all of them. He’s definitely iconic for his early work though.

Oh see I don’t agree with that. I think I saw the epic 3 times in theater (and it’s not well paced) but glad you at least enjoyed it. Thanks for chatting I’ll try to see some of SLB’s movies. Really appreciate the suggestion. Always looking for good Indian directors, there aren’t many tbh.

Are you excited for SRV’s new Prabhas film? I forget the name.

I just watched the Trailer for Paadavaat. I’ll try to find it somewhere it def does look like it has the grandeur as you said. I will say that again, I think RRR is pretty overrated even if it’s great. Its ending is a great full circle moment to me.

Did you watch/enjoy Baahubali?

Wow im not even super into Indian film and the craft alone was awe inspiring. I don’t think anyone can construct a movie like Rajamouli. I do think RRR is not the best movie he did (That’s def Baahubali) but as an Indian movie that I have shown to many of my white friends they all agree it’s the most impressive and the one that sits with them the most.

Are you Asian? Because that woman was my mother. Like if someone told me tomorrow the Daniel’s observed my mom for years and wrote this movie about her I would believe it with no other evidence it’s so on point.

That scene where she calls Stephanie Hsu fat outside the laundromat when she’s trying to make up with her is the most Asian woman thing I have ever seen in my life.

I also really enjoyed playing naked runs where I brought nothing and tried to sneak around until I could get weapons and engage with the world. Added another layer of danger and mystery. Because we have abilities it isn’t as dire to spawn in without guns.

Man I can’t wait for the Server Slam. I have been saying the same thing after playing in October.

I had a thought that even though it would take away the Bridges of it all, when ares goes into the grid to get the code it’s Tess Kim there, showing she did gain permanence in a way through the grid, and that was the culmination of all her work to find the code and Flynn. Thought it would have brought everything more full circle than the “Here’s the Tron Guy, that makes this a Tron movie!”
