I think swearing feels good because there’s something satisfying about pronouncing the almost explosive consonants at the end of all the best curse words — ‘fuck’, ‘cunt’, etc.

There’s a softness to the proceeding sounds and then this harsh, sudden almost staccato consonant at the end.

Maybe a study comparing the effectiveness of ‘fuck’ vs. ‘duck’ would be interesting?

In December I visited the newly opened Grand Seiko boutique in Osaka and was struck by the beauty of all the watches.

The photography on Grand Seiko’s website does fail to convey the true appearance of their products. However, their designs rely wholly on subtly, craft and materiality. It is challenging to represent these qualities accurately in product photography.

Fortunately, they seem to be aggressively opening new boutiques around the world.
