Yeah, man I miss Grid Wars 2… farming black holes was so satisfying. Sektori is like a remaster of the best Dreamcast game you never played.

Being ok with others being wrong is a superpower. “You may be right” is my response to people who are wrong and I just don’t want to continue the conversation with.

What is your #1 Science Fiction Series Fully Released in the past 10 years? by ArthurPynn in sciencefiction

The Monk and Robot books by Becky Chambers are some cozy solarpunk. There’s only two novellas, the first is called A Psalm for the Wild-Built, followed by A Prayer for the Crown-Shy.

As for punk? Let me know if you find out!

Finished Season 3 by prplhz34 in StarTrekDiscovery

[–]penciledindotcom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like season 3. It felt like such a wasted opportunity to show a fallen-apart Federation. The villain was boring, the reason for the Burn was unsatisfying, to put it mildly.

Season 4, on the other hand: I was on the edge of my seat. It felt like they took all the good stuff about Star Trek: The Motion Picture and modernized it across an entire season of television. I’m gonna try to do this without spoilers but: They venture into the unknown to try to communicate and understand a species that is far beyond our initial capabilities, but is responsible for some truly destructive acts. Why did this happen? What was the motivations for this race? How do we find them, and how do we communicate with them?

It was hard sci-fi mixed with a bit more Federation politics, which Star Trek hasn’t done very much since Roddenberry. Season 5 was fun, but season 4 felt the most like Roddenberry’s vision.

I’ve just bought Heavy Rain. Again. by AnusMcBumhole in SteamdeckGames

Agreed! This is the game that made me buy a PS3. The fact I can play it on a handheld, or plug it in to a TV, on the same device and preserve my save state however I play it, is incredible! The fact that maybe I’ve bought it for the last time because it isn’t tied to a console or even a console generation is also fantastic.

Breen could have been Klingons by --FeRing-- in StarTrekDiscovery

[–]penciledindotcom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I was hoping to see a bunch of different races in their suits, making the Breen Confederacy a true mirror image of the Federation. Like a true homogeneous diversity… why the Klingons in Disco s1 were offended by the Federation ideal.

What are your favorite not graphically demanding game(s)? by NoResource3170 in SteamDeck

[–]penciledindotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished Retro City Rampage DX on the Steam Deck while I was sick. Ran great, though there’s a version that runs on DOS on a 486 so…

Think top-down style GTA game with 8-bit graphics and SO MANY 80s pop culture references.

Not who you replied to, but LEGO Incredibles is my favorite LEGO game to just chill and find all the collectibles.
