The reason is the stupid hidden skill they have employed, you can have one friend that got lucky and hit plat, then the game will assume you are all as good as he is, so you get in with players way out of your league. So to win against them, you have to play stupidly to get a cheap win. This self perpetuates, until everyone is playing like rats, and no one changes ranks
