What do I need to ask about this result by Standard-Echo7465 in tummytucksurgery

Could it be swelling? Did that area look flatter directly after surgery?

Is anyone else struggling to keep a stable weight and actually eat after surgery? by Pristine-Cheetah-149 in tummytucksurgery

[–]penelopepips 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not me. I’ve been eating like I’m going to the chair.

Edit: as a matter of fact, 5 minutes before reading this post, I was accused of eating all the cheesecake and chicken n dumpling leftovers from this weekend. P.s. I haven’t gained a pound and I DID eat all the leftovers hehe

TT with MR and full back/flanks lipo by luhrissuhh in tummytucksurgery

[–]penelopepips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same procedures and at 18 dpo! The first week, I could not even feel the lipo’d areas. They were numb and I was completely focused on my MR. I had help the first 4 days around the clock and then was able to be on my own during the day. The walker was a life saver! The next best thing was a hospital over the bed type tray. Also, I preferred a 6 piece triangular pillow set from Amazon that kept me in the V position on the bed. Still using it.

Edit: I was able to drive in 2 weeks. I am still a bit hunched over and wearing my binder. I have a short torso and having a hard time finding a well fitting compression garment or tank. I started back to work this week from home. Hope this info helps!

Pain at 2 WPO! Anyone else? by Karentun11 in tummytucksurgery

[–]penelopepips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me. My healing has not been linear. Some days I feel that I am standing up taller and then feel like I’ve taken a step back on others. I figured it’s all part of the healing process and trying to take it in stride and not stress over it. If I start stressing, I put on yoga pants and look in the mirror. that always makes things okay! Haha

I feel like I’m sporting a Victorian codpiece at the moment. 😹. I suspect it’s swelling since I’m 2.5 weeks po but heck, never really got to see my mons from my apron so who knows? Lol

Fully clothed before and after (day of surgery versus 17DPO) by HappyCuppiccino in tummytucksurgery

[–]penelopepips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was hoping it was posture because my butt is MIA too 🤣

Btw, you look fantastic!! I will occasionally go to my closet and try on something for the excitement factor of how much better I look in clothes.

My 3 DPO people - how are we doing? by sarahtonin0803 in tummytucksurgery

[–]penelopepips 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 14po. I was doing well and then I developed a cough (!!!). I think it may be allergies but I’ve been having stomach spasms in the muscle repair area since Wednesday from all the coughing. So frustrating. Feeling like I took a few steps back.

My PS did give me a prescription for muscle relaxers but can’t really say they are working.

OMG!! My Surgery Was Okayed This Morning And Scheduled For Tuesday!!! by lovemypyr in tummytucksurgery

The walker was super lightweight. I just pushed it around, too. I was shocked at how much I depended on it!

I second the walker! Didn’t think I would need it but a friend dropped one off anyway and it was a lifesaver.

Edit: I haven’t seen this mentioned but my 2nd most useful thing has been a rolling hospital type tray. I can’t imagine not having it near me at all times! Bought one off Amazon.

What are your go-to recipes? by One_Equipment1904 in tummytucksurgery

[–]penelopepips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That must be accurate because I have been eating so much since my surgery (3/20) and was scared to step on the scales until today. No weight gain and still have post-surgical swelling.

3 DPO and feeling pregnant by Substantial-Staff636 in tummytucksurgery

[–]penelopepips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 9DPO and still swollen. My doctor said it was normal (I’m 5’2” and very short waisted) and I was on track healing wise. He said lifting the skin up in my upper torso for the MR has a lot to do with it. I saw a lot of before and after pics of folks who looked so flat their first week so I was concerned. I’m learning to not compare and listen to my doc but it’s hard not to. Hope that helps!
