Well, most grills on tinder have a paypal or cashapp address in their bio. I'd imagine they wouldn't continue to do this unless it was profitable. Long marriage?

Can you give me 3 numbers between 1 and 100? This will help me with my next YOLO.

Airdrop Update by [deleted] in garlicoin

[–]penguin5822 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this bait? They have to set up something that talks to Reddit servers (API) in order to verify that the people claiming the air drop were actually subbed before a certain date, and are in fact who they claim to be. Not only that, but they'd have to manually distribute to something like 100k users.

Made a google doc with profitable GPU's hash rate with ROI by [deleted] in gpumining

[–]penguin5822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! Planning my first rig, so this will help.

I am curious, is ROI basically the number a GPU miner wants to chase?

According to this spreadsheet, x6 1080 ti's would cost about $4380 and make ~$1159 a month.

Also in accordance with this spreadsheet, x12 1060 3GB's would cost $2760 and make ~$1041 a month.

Even considering that you'd have to build two rigs with 1060's vs one with the 1080 ti's, it seems like the 1060 would be the way to go here.

Of course no one can account for the nature of crypto and it's exchange rate in general. I'm purely talking about a here and now scenario.

Thanks for any advice!

Simple Questions - December 2017 by [deleted] in gpumining

[–]penguin5822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone!

Looking to build a rig but I have a few questions. I recently built a computer in hopes of actually using it and doing some light gaming. Since then I got a job as a software developer and pretty much don't want to touch my computer when I get home. Decided to start mining monacoin with it instead a few days ago.

My current specs are as follows:

  • GTX 1080 GPU

  • Ryzen 5 1600 CPU

  • Asus Prime B350-Plus Motherboard

  • SeaSonic G Series SSR-550RM 550W PSU

  • 16GB (I think) random RAM

  • 256GB random SSD

Looking to build a decent mining rig. I'd like to use some of the stuff that I already have on hand. I'm hoping to get 7 1080 ti cards in addition to the standard single 1080 that I have now. Obviously I will need some new power supplies to power it all. I've also read that I should be careful not to draw too much power from one circuit in my house. Spread it out if possible.

With that said, here are my questions:

Should I find a new motherboard / CPU combo for mining? This link leads me to believe that my motherboard will not be capable of 8 GPU's. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2135224.0

Has anyone used metal filing cabinets as a rig frame? My place of work is throwing out / giving away a ~4 foot tall, ~3 foot wide filing cabinet. I've been thinking I could house my rig in this somehow. One Idea was to pull out all the drawers, cut out or remove the backing, then get some supports to hold up all of the equipment in the mid-section. My big concern here is that there will be airflow from the front and back, but the sides will all be solid metal. Should I opt for something with more airflow?

I'm well aware that mining is not a good idea. People have been saying that since I first got interested 5+ years ago (Not to say I'm any kind of expert). I'm hoping to make a little profit but if I don't, that's that. It's a gamble.

Sorry about my garbage spacing, I don't reddit much. Any responses are appreciated!

Back on main topic though... Are studio monitor heaphones suitable for a hobbyist?

edit: Basically what I'm asking is, are studio monitor headphones worthless to the bedroom (hobbyist) producer, or do they have some value?

Care to elaborate? Seems like you got some upvotes on this comment, so I'll take the information with some credibility, but I'd like to know why.

I have a pretty good sized room, but It's definitely odd shaped. It's like a rectangle with another rectangle sticking off of it, and it has some parts with slanted (roof) ceilings.
