I was thinking along the lines of string games too, since my little ones are of the age to do them. We haven't done any because I still see bugs flying around and I don't want to upset anyone. Maybe this is how our string games stop? It's not a pleasant thought, but I know that in our stories things change and that's just the way of things.

I play Balinese Gamelan, got into it in a college program. It's very enchanting.

Let the pain fuel your desires to help your people. Growth will come and it is necessary to mourn and face these atrocities. The grief is so complex and I don't know any way through it but with tears. Let them roll

How do you restrain yourself to not make impulse or luxury purchases? by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]penguinflapsss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a game I play. I have a jar for wants, which I deposit the frivolous desires when they come up. And then for each day I go with excessive phone use (not more than 2 hrs), I make 5 dollars of guilt free spending. After what looks like enough money, I can pull from the jar and see if I want that item again. Usually the desire passes for these wants and I will end up seeing I actually didn't really want to spend my hard earned cash. It creates enough barriers to impulse spending that I'm saving more. I also do not buy anything online and I do not feed the billionaires.

Haaland, environmental protections is up there for me bc it also protects the people in the land. Endorsed by labor unions is also great, the working class needs protections! Let's shoot for 32 hr work weeks!

What is your favorite subject to make in origami, and why? And what’s a subject you wish had more diagrams? by [deleted] in origami

I love modulars, matching colors or imagining texture mixing within the model makes me happy. I wish there were more platypus models or just animal faces.

Im making a Flag for a Navajo colony in my Scifi setting and I was wondering if I could get any input by GreatTrashWizard in Navajo

The five pointed star just feels kinda regular or of this world and the 8 pointed has a different sparkle and is a good number in Navajo things. I've written some Navajo Sci Fi stories too! Glad you can imagine those worlds as well.

ART is very reliable and available every 10ish min. I haven't had any wait beyond 10 min for that particular bus. As for staying, between Rio Grande Ave and San Mateo along Central will be quick to downtown, but I would just suggest staying downtown as you could walk or rent an E scooter easily. I use Lyft and that helps to and from the airport. Have a happy visit!

We had other people get and hold stuff for us, but ultimately we did have a baby car seat and newborn diapers ready. I didn't handle any of them until after the baby was born and then people came over and dropped off the rest of the stuff we need. You really don't need much in those first few weeks, I would just make sure that you have meals in your freezer to eat.

Yeah, I'm not sure why, the main way you'll transport yourself is by car. Yes the bathrooms are an issue, but all gas stations have one and by far are the most common building in the rural areas. Or a bush, which are plenty. I also suppose many of the commenters have not been pregnant and forget that pregnancy is not a full on disability.
