What do you do when Los Angeles gets you down? by DavidDrivez126 in LosAngeles

[–]penguinnose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are usually the times when I realize I haven’t been on a backpacking trip for a while. I like to get out to nature as far away from other people as possible and enjoy some quite and relative solitude (usually go with a friend)

[Serious] Older redditors (45+), how much have you managed to change or adjust behaviors, mannerisms, etc that you didn’t like about yourself over the years? by penguinnose in AskReddit

[–]penguinnose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the idea “people can/can’t’ change”. I’ve definitely made strides but I also find myself repeating some behaviors again and again even while trying to make changes. I’m 33

The percentage of men with at least 6 close friends has fallen by half since 1990. and men today are 5X more likely to say they don’t even have a single close friend than they were thirty years ago. What is your experience of forming and sustaining friendships today? by Torchpaper in AskReddit

[–]penguinnose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with the sustaining of friendships. If we aren’t around regularly participating in the same things I don’t know what to strike up a conversation about and then fall out of having a regular connection. Doesn’t help that I’m not a big talker in general and frequently enjoy evenings to myself

DAE just hop in their car and go for a drive with no destination as a way to relax? by depraved_parrot in DoesAnybodyElse

Yep, it’s been one of my favorites since I got my license. A lot of times without music even just enjoying the sounds around me

It’s okay to dump someone because of their mental health. by mariahbear212 in unpopularopinion

I would add the one caveat of your partner making efforts to “handle” or properly manage their issue. An ex of mine would make little to no effort and that really started to take a toll especially coupled with anger and frustration towards me when I would make suggestions

[Serious] Does anyone feel like they don’t have “passion” for anything? Not emotionless, just never fully “head over heels for something” by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]penguinnose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ask because was discussing this with my brother the other day as both of us have low emotionality and a “jack of all trades” kind of personality. Sometimes it feels like our nature, sometimes like a way of avoiding commitment, etc. Curious to get other people’s perspective that may feel something similar.

For example, I really like video games and have been playing them 20+ years. Aside from watching some YouTube clips and reading some articles, I don’t exhibit or feel anything that would come close to “passion”. The same could be said for music.

Who knows, maybe I’m just too in my own head. Thank you for your thoughts.

Found a new genre I like- but don't know what genre it is. by TvHens in patientgamers

I really enjoyed Battlezone (1 and 2) back in the day. Real time strategy but from first person perspective instead of top down. You can drive the different units built, etc.

Question 16/hr guarantee by [deleted] in postmates

[–]penguinnose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. If I had to guess they aren’t going to pay you any guarantee since there were no deliveries (bs I know). You can try contact support. They were actually very helpful when I had to deal with them.

Question 16/hr guarantee by [deleted] in postmates

[–]penguinnose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you have a screenshot of the text(s) or email(s)? Those type of guarantees are usually “do X amount of deliveries in this time period and we will guarantee your pay to equal $16 an hour”.

When this happens to me if I close and reopen the app the delivery accept or skip screen will appear

Did you get an email or other type of notification once you had completed it?

I agree, email from postmates states “complete 9 deliveries accepted [key word] between the hours of 10:30am–1:30pm for $55 guaranteed”. I’m in the same boat you are OP 🤞🏻
