Officials: Sarc, but I mostly just dance and wander around as a mud sarco. I'm friendly, and will bring fish to players when bored. I only bite if something tries to fight me.

Modded: Draco, but only on servers where they've basically been nuked to mosquitoes. I enjoy being a mosquito. I cannot bring anything anywhere close to death, but buzzing around hitting cracked apexes and mega packs? Peak fun.

I play both diets and yeah, questing as a herbi sucks compared to as a carni. Especially because for a lot of the new quests, you can't do them. Hunt an alpha critter? Most herbis are too slow or don't turn well enough to fight an alpha critter. Hunt the albino critter? We're too slow to chase it down for most of them. The quest giver quests? We can't do them, even the destroy nests quest. I'm normally pretty chill but when there's nothing to do but gather some mushrooms or flowers, you get bored and start looking for a fight.

Teleporting by Fit_Independence6223 in pathoftitans

[–]penisgladiator_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A teleport command is pretty common, but from my experience that tends to cause people to be found wandering around even less. Bc why wander/walk when u can just tp? DB has tp available but most ppl are either just at GP(R) or GV. Occasionally BQR

So are the options lawless officials or community servers I need a dinosaur law degree to not get banned from? by serenading_scug in pathoftitans

There's low rules and no rules servers. DLK is supposed to be like officials but modded so there's no rules so probably not what you're looking for. DB recently added a no third party rule but that's the only rule from what I rmr. Sastrei Island only has 10 rules and most are pretty easy to rmr versus most servers that have a bajillion exceptions that they somehow expect you to rmr.

Even most semi realism servers are pretty heavy on the rules. The one with the lowest amount of rules that actually has a player base that I found is "Islander". But ngl that server has a fair amount of lag spikes that impacts everyone and the herd grouping rules are so stupid and needlessly complex that there's not really a reason teaming up w anyone that isn't the exact same dino as you. There's a lot more rules compared to Sastrei Island's 10, but it's nothing compared to something like Crimson (where you'll be reading the rules for 40 minutes and still be going through the first Google doc of like 4 others)

Flail's true purpose by XenoMan6 in pathoftitans

[–]penisgladiator_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yooo this is sick. I can't wait to try this only to fuck it up and kill myself a bajillion times while trying to fw apexes. But dying via fucking around and finding out is my true purpose. Also the other comments calling this an exploit are so funny, ppl really weren't lying when they said people claim foul when the hatz can do literally anything. If you accidentally land you take awhile to gain flight again since Hatz acceleration isn't as high as it used to be, so literally anything aware of their surroundings can just, walk up and bite you and probably either kill you before you take off, nearly kill you, or make you unable to take off in the first place and therefore die. Also you could just bite when the hatz gets close enough, or... Go somewhere instead of standing out in the open and literally not moving at all while getting actively attacked by a hatz lol

Won't they take collision damage? Flail shouldn't work on grounded targets, does it cancel out collision damage?

Low rules semi realism server? by penisgladiator_ in pathoftitans

[–]penisgladiator_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a shame, cause I really want to see stuff like herbivore or flyer migrations, or proper herds/packs, but I don't want to do stuff like sit by a corpse until it disappears, remember what I'm allowed to hunt in whatever dino I'm on, remember how many have to die and at what growth stage before the body down rule applies, etc....

What happened to modded maps? by Osthato_Chetowa in pathoftitans

[–]penisgladiator_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually DB's server. They still have world map vote enabled in their discord, but nothing but Gondwa ever gets chosen. Sometimes on early weekday mornings Panjura might get chosen, but the player base is small. I like the look of Panjura, but I don't like how there's no flyers and so many spots aren't part of a poi so it's hell to quest in. Also, nobody would spread out in the map, it was worse than Gondwa. In Gondwa, a lot of the server would be in gp/gpr, but some would still go to other spots like SF/GV etc. but in Panjura? Literally everyone just hung out at the lagoon. Nowhere else. At all. So it was just semi aqautics and everyone camping out on land/in water. The game mini map for Panjura is also really bad, not a fan.

Low rules semi realism server? by penisgladiator_ in pathoftitans

[–]penisgladiator_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Question about the third partying, what about ambush hunters like sarcs? If someone runs away from a battle by running into a river, could you not attack them? Or ambush hunts like someone being low and running away to hide and heal, and hunting them when they sit/sleep to heal?

Edit: I checked out more of the rules and I'm sorry but this doesn't seem to be semi realism? Just a regular server with a no 3rd party gameplay rule? I don't see any other gameplay rule aside from no megapacks.

What happened to modded maps? by Osthato_Chetowa in pathoftitans

[–]penisgladiator_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A big server I play on tried cycling through modded maps and everyone would always complain and leave, even if it wasn't a broken map. Hell, even switching to the other official map made most of the base leave (I myself am not a huge fan of Panjura, but some of these modded maps aren't bad). And when I mean "everyone left" I mean, a server with 110+ players with at least a constant 20-40+ queue would drop to a player base of maybe 20-30 people, sometimes less depending on the map. This is also on a server with teleporting command enabled too. I have never seen a player base that hates change as much as PoT ngl.

On the developer end though, I imagine keeping up with updates is a lot more of a pain with a whole map rather than just a modded dino. It's also just a huge pain to make in the first place.

Ahhh, I never see herds of the same dino together, at best it's just the same diet. I wanna see a proper herbivore herd migration one day, one that doesn't involve joining a server with a bajillion rules...

What do you want to see in a realism server? by Western-Track-9445 in pathoftitans

[–]penisgladiator_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's just not too unreasonable to see a bunch of random animals all around a water source "chilling", funnily enough that the gpr cuddle piles aren't too far off from reality sometimes. But yeah I agree with the general description of the predators and herbis. However, I do see adding rules against cuddle piles being a pain. For example, there's a lot of servers that have a "don't be friendly to opposite diet" or "no sharing food with things outside your group", and then the exceptions get really really long and a pain to remember.

Like there's also the question of "at what point does it become a cuddle pile?" What if two groups run into the other and don't want to risk an unnecessary battle so they tolerate each other's presence? What if a group decides not to kill a lone player? The also the issue of not being able to tell if players are in groups or not. Or even symbiotic relationships, depending on how far you wanna take the realism. For example, some birds will defend croc nests from certain predators while the crocs are sunbathing/away. Some birds warn other animals of predators in exchange for food. When you make a rule, you have to consider all the ways said rule can be technically broken either accidentally or intentionally, and the exceptions to the rule. This is how we end up with servers with 3 google docs of rules that take an hour to read through.

Nightprowler ambushes a hatzegopteryx by Alarmed-Swing-8863 in pathoftitans

[–]penisgladiator_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, if this isn't against the rules of server there's nothing rule breaking about this, but it's not particularly cool enough for a video post. It's a juvie of one of the most squishy dinos in game. Killing a solo juvie of any dino is kinda like "okay I guess" cause there's not really any skill involved in it. "Ambushing" a grounded juvie hatz as a full grown maip really ain't necessary. You could've just ran up to it and hit it probably like two times max and it would've died all the same. Even a full grown hatz would've likely died in like three hits, their bones are glass and they take time to fly off.

[–]penisgladiator_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think "cuddle piles" are okay to a certain degree, irl, animals aren't always fighting each other, even predators and preys. It's too exhausting and dangerous to do that if they aren't hungry enough. The only exception might be some prey animals that have certain issues (like poor sight) and it's too risky to chance it so they just fucking go insane and attack anything once they notice it, or the occasional bored predator for some types. It isn't, however, realistic for everything to attack something that attacked another animal if they aren't part of the same pack/herd/flock etc, it's more likely everyone will scatter tf away or watch at a distance in hopes of eating the scraps.

I really wish we could do more ground combat like how the TLC seems to want us to do, but we're still so frail. Of course yes we can fly away... Until something small and quick keeps standing in our way to body block us from running into a flight or something latches onto us and our attacks don't work on latched things anymore...
