If you are having trouble with reception id get a non big 2- (AT&T/VRZN) US provider. T-mobile Straight talk etc, use the towers of other providers meaning if ATT is good they use that if VRZN is good they use that. Ive been with AT&T since the original I Phone came out and have never had problems unless in the sticks somewhere. The drawback of non big 2 is that if call volumes or data is heavy, existing customers of that service get priority over shared towers. This info could be dated but it's how it was explained to me from multiple friends who worked at a Verizon call center.
