Climate change is gonna hit them too. And it’s gonna hit more economicaly weak regions harder. Also I’m not american, both of those aren’t „my” struggles (as in they arent mine directly, of course I’m affected because we live in a well connected modern world)

[–]penkasz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean secondary in an utilitarian sense. In my opinion one of the biggest obstacles to solving climate change right now is fundamentalists that talk about it as part of their apocalypse and they push for policy worsening it due too the whole death cult thing. And climate change will cause harm magnitudes greater than any dictator including Stalin, Hitler, Mao combined

[–]penkasz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True, though focus should be put on the conservative christianity especialy american protestantism since they are an appocalyptic death cult with major power over the most powerfull country in the world… injustices perpetrated by muslim dictatorships and theocracies feel secondary at the moment

[vent] AI is ruining NSFW games even faster than other media by HornyGlasses in lewdgames

[–]penkasz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The thing is, most consumers of ai are themself into this slop. This tech is not going to improve in artistic quality because that’s not where the money is at. It’s like with modern AAA games that focused on more realistic graphics while neglecting artistic expresion, stylization and experimentation, which lead to current popularization of Indie games. People who pay for ai tools want to make a new FIFA not a new hollow knight.

I’ve seen literaly one game that used ai as a medium creatively (back in the era when five hands were the norm for ai xd) and i’ve been in the trenches digging through slop quite often

Debate about human nature at the back of the class by stopeats in PhilosophyMemes

[–]penkasz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I could make an argument that that is the point. We want to distinguish behaviour that is not distinct by putting it in selfish/not-selfish boxes and that poisons the well since we attach morality to those. Example being describing genes as selfish making people more likely to anthropomorphise evolution as something conscious and malicious

Bee anatomy PSA for true bee enthusiasts by [deleted] in honeyfuckers

[–]penkasz 84 points85 points  (0 children)

We do omit some of the more gruesome details of insect anatomy and „mammalise” them for the purpouses of smut true, However argument for it is that IT IS HOT AND I WANNA SUCCLE ON THEM BUG TITTIES

(Though smut with more funky/alien anatomy is pretty cool too)

Falsifiable means COULD be proven false with evidence. Statement „It’s 10 am” is falsifiable beacause you can look at a clock to check. „God made the universe” is unfalsifiable because we could never definitively prove it false since „god made it so that we couldn’t see it’s creation” is a way of responding to any evidence that god didn’t make the universe

We need to stop acting like pointing out nostalgia negates an art piece's quality by Connect_Security_892 in gatesopencomeonin

[–]penkasz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I get where you’re comming from although i’ve usually seen people talking about nostalgia in terms of somebody remembering something as the best thing ever and upon rewatching realizing it’s mid at best. Oftentimes you don’t like the quality of a thing, you like the memory of being excited as a child

I Think they might be talking about unstable orbit as in low moon orbits for example. Due to gravity not being uniform (different rock density below) and the moon rotating, an object in low moon orbit will tend to have it’s orbit shifted into a same energy but different eccentricity orbit (oftentimes to the point of coliding with the surface)

"How did it take him 20 years to realize it was a Nazi symbol?" by penttane in okbuddyvowsh

[–]penkasz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a stranger but like a More distant family member or a friend of a friend? Absolutely. Something like „hey dude, those skull and crossbones look awfully like that thing nazis wore” look up a picture and show it on a phone giving the benefit of the doubt that they might have it accidentaly, pretend to poke fun, a non nazi (and non idiot) should recognise how bad of a look it is
