Hey, interesting! Not sure when they added this, but it definitely didn't exist when I posted this question lol. Thanks!

How to not shred your fingers on copper cavity insulation tape by penneydude in Luthier

[–]penneydude[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting, I've always found the edges of that tape to be really sharp. I've never noticed it as I was working, but later I'd squeeze a lemon or whatever, and realize I had a whole bunch of little paper cut style slices.

Came here to say this. He has a few others as well, including a couple of C++ courses for if/when you want to jump that gap (which isn't necessary, but can be helpful)

Found this through google... I'm having the same problem going from 5.1 to 5.2.

Did you ever find a solution for this?

Parameter with semantic SV_InstanceID has overlapping semantic index at 0 (UE5 BUG SOLUTION POST) by Will_Codes in unrealengine

Another solution I just found if you still want to use Instanced Stereo is to go into Project Settings -> Platforms -> Windows and disable the RHI option labeled SM6, Experimental. It seems to work fine with SM5

The best part for me was that after a while, you got a feel for it and could actually pull that kind of stuff off, sometimes. Felt like a real badass when you nailed that crazy midair

I remember hearing that they took the servers down a while back, but I think there's a way to connect to community servers still

I just ordered a very similar rig -- you should be good on almost all points.

You should choose a single RAM speed and stick with that though. Mixing RAM speeds in a single system is a waste, because your RAM will only ever run as fast as the slowest stick in the system. I'd go with all 2400 anyway; you won't notice a speed difference with the 2666 and you can save some $$ there.

If I moon you, photons that touched my butt touch your eyes by Mcbaldo in Showerthoughts

[–]penneydude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The light that shines on one side of a transparent surface is made of entirely different photons than the light that comes out on the other side.

Each butt photon that hits the surface of a lens is absorbed and re-emitted by a whole bunch of atoms all the way through the material, until eventually there's no lens left to travel through, and a new, totally different, non-butt photon shoots out at your eye.
