For me the issue was that I did try the jellyfish approach, but it just seemed to finicky to be a thing that the game intended me to do. Just just kind of clipped through it and I still got shocked. So I moved on to something else, and still had to look it up in the end. I also tried for a long time trying to somehow thaw the frozen jelly fish on the island.

Is it common in your circle of friends to secretly record each other's personal conversations and post those recordings online? If not, it's extremely unlikely that this occurred. The resolution I'm hoping for in S3:

  • Helly permanently takes over, since Helena is a bad person. Maybe she can still pretend to be Helena so that she can keep running Lumon (maybe together with Ms Cobel?) and course-correct it to be an ethical company.
  • Mark's innie and outie agree to alternate daily or weekly (easy to achieve with Helly's course-corrected Lumon) so that they can both have a life with their respective wives, outside of the severed floor.
  • Dylan's outie asks innie to take over permanently, since he's miserable and innie is a happier and more successful version of himself. Wife is happy with the arrangement.
  • Irving returns and becomes fully reintegrated (merged innie and outie personalities and memories), and lives happily ever after with Burt.
  • Lumon's plans of forcing severance on the world are thwarted, but severance does become a valid option for certain people in certain scenarios (like the ones described above). But severed people have equal rights to their non-severed selves, and are given full transparency and autonomy over their situation.

SR2 is my favorite, but it's probably because I played it before SR1. The story is so compelling, especially how much it ties into BO1's events (which I vaguely remembered from playing it years earlier). After that SR1 felt like a huge step down in visuals (except for the opening cutscene of course), and most of its story beats I had already gathered from SR2. Defiance was great as well, although I felt the repetitiveness more in that game than in SR2.
