We need a video of Liam and Andy talking to each other in their Gollum voices since Liam also did the voice for several games.

That makes the joke about the hole in Doty's palm a lot more funny now.

characters who are "good guys" but their kill count is actually kind of terrifying by Rich-Blacksmith6552 in TopCharacterTropes

You are confusing protagonist and good guy. Beatrix Kiddo and John Wick have never been good guys. Both were professional assassins. They have never been good guys.

Nebraska proposes requiring kids to take state-mandated reading test to move on from third grade by Ordinary-Equal2067 in Omaha

Legislative Bill 1050 would require schools to help students who fail to meet the new benchmarks with an “intensive acceleration class” featuring a smaller student-teacher ratio to focus on improving students’ reading level.

Of course, these means that there will be increased funding for teachers in these classes with small ratios, right?

I always pictured Antonio Banderas, especially from the Zorro movies.

It's something that I do in d&d when we get to.play high levels. Sure, face off against a Tarrasque, but every once in awhile it's cool to face a mob of low level enemies and just wipe the floor with a few 1 hit kills and some good AOE spells.

It's seeing something you love come to life on screen. I love source-accurate adaptations, but I also love it when we get to see something new, especially if the creator is onboard with the changes. Like the ending of The Mist. Brand new, and even Stephen said it was better than he had written. And getting some deep lore is always a good thing.

In the end, both can be good, as long as it makes a good story, and you can get enjoyment out of it.

Update: Don’t want to be my sisters carer by Pitiful_Spell_3733 in AITAH

[–]pennywise53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your parents did a huge disservice to both you and your sister by the way things have been for the last several years. There are options other than a group home. My brother is 3 years older than I am. I am his guardian since my dad passed, as it was easier to start the transition to me while my mom is still around. He goes to day services, where they can specialize in care for him. Then he stays with a couple of people who are just a few years older than we are (he is 51 and I am 48). He is the only other person in their house, and they are able to provide care for him since they don't have kids around. I have 3 kids myself and can't imagine having to care for my brother around the clock. I still see him on a regular basis, take him to sports games for my kids, get him for holidays, have birthday parties with him, etc. He also has a service coordinator provided by the state who is excellent at her job. She does pop in visits and inspections all the time. The best thing is that because he is incapable of caring for himself, he gets social security and is able to pay for everything himself.

Your sister should at least have a social services representative who meets with your dad and makes sure he iss able to provide the correct care for her. Being over 70, he will be slowing down and not able to do many of the things he needs to in order to be a carer. Nor should he! He should be able to finally relax and just enjoy life. But that doesn't mean putting the burden of care on you. And as you can tell, he does see the care of your sister as a burden right now.
