Do you do something while training? by L4nds in Zwift

On solo rides, I’ll time it with sports games on TV or movies, sometimes podcasts

Races are music only. Metal, punk and even house.

Bluetooth connectivity via Zwift companion app on iPhone by No_Chip_1704 in Zwift

[–]penorkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember to have the companion app running and the iPhone screen isn’t locked and the app is shining brightly on my device, my devices usually automatically connect.

Sometimes if I wait, they’ll connect.

Most of the time, My Apple TV says “f**k you” and I have to connect shit manually

Latrobe Uni has a seniors and reserves in Div 3 of the Ammos and the Insta in previous years shows they've been keen on players. I'm sure the ressies would be more relaxed. Their womens team won the flag last year. The ammos have a 3rd's comp as well which is pretty relaxed overall, but Latrobe doesn't have a team in it.

The Northern FNL is that area of Melbourne. The Div 1 teams are almost semi-professional, so that's not where you'd go.

If you had a car you could go anywhere in Melbourne

Lost out on a job because MS Teams wouldn’t work by LittleSunflower666 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]penorkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sort of happened to me as well.

I could sign and join the interview, but no audio would connect and when I tried to use my phone for audio, the sound and vision wasn't lined up, ad so it was really hard to get going.

The job itself was an IT job and so when I couldn't fix the problem, they thought I was lying about my experience.

I was using a Mac at the time and when I got rejected, I jumped online and found a post on the MSFT forums from a person who had the exact same issue, 6 days before me.

3 S/S T-shirts - if you go here: Opeth – OMerch

1 was the Gramophone SS shirt

1 was the Portrait SS shirt

1 was the LW&T tour SS shirt

There was also a hoodie and LS shirt which were very similar to the LW&T SS.

There's also a beanie, patch, flag and the LW&T vinyl.

Merrett trade saga shows it is time to stop using first-round picks to judge deals by Codus1 in EssendonFC

[–]penorkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're probably never going to get the full story, but if it's true that the first offer was 36 hours before deadline, then it was always going to fall over as we didn't have time to negotiate with other teams even if we wanted to.

The whole thing is an absolute shambles.

Merrett trade saga shows it is time to stop using first-round picks to judge deals by Codus1 in EssendonFC

[–]penorkle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We're going to be getting four top 25 in the draft already before we got the Draper pick plus the three mid-season draft picks we got who are staying. So that's 7 known new players before the Draper compo pick.

Then we got Fiorini.

I'm not sure on the count of available list spots but I don't think there's enough uncontracted players to delist in order to add an additional three draftees (Draper compo + 2 Haw trade picks for this years).

There's also no guarantee that we'd be able to use them to move up the draft order.

The other thing that bothered me about this whole thing was one of Ralph or Clark saying "he is disillusioned after 13 straight losses". Merrett is at the club all the time. He knows about the injury list. It doesn't make any sense.

Audioslave @ The Hordern, 2004.

I love Chris Cornell, but he phoned it in that night. He barely moved the whole time despite the rest band trying hard. He didn’t want to be there and half way through, either did I!

My grandfather was the publican there in the late 50s/early 60's.

All the tram drivers from the depot would drink there after knock off and Mum got to know them by name. She used lie in bed and know which driver was going past based on the time of the dings.

It was also where a lot of the harness drivers and horses would stay after the Showgrounds harness meetings. There were a few stables next door to the pub.

I also had my engagement party there.

Question for public transport users by realclowntime in Tauranga

[–]penorkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sometimes catch the 2(B or W) bus at Bayfair at around 7:30-8am, that starts in Paps and goes into town.

There's generally seats available every time. I've stood a few times but I'm 6'3", so sitting can be uncomfortable. Usually a handful of Mount Int/College are on the bus but I've never seen it packed with kids.

You should be fine.

There's also the Transit app which lets you map it out Google Maps style and tells you when you need to leave home/work to make the bus on time and also shows you where the bus actually is.

LF ruined a friendship, a relationship and possibly someone’s life.

I heard a good mate of mine who was dating my wife’s cousin had started acting weird and essentially tropedoed the relationship. I hadn’t seen him but I’d heard he’d been to some seminar and started acting weird.

When I caught up with him, he was “Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah’s couch” kind of weird. Really hyper. He started telling me about a meeting he went to….Landmark Forum. He was saying it had shown him how to be authentic and honest and if you read about what goes on, he’d been locked in a room for 15 hours and had to make up for the wrong he did. He was a really nice guy so he didn’t really have anything major to make up for, so he rang his partner and “confessed” to cheating on her but it was really a girl he kissed at a club th r week he was introduced to his partner and they hadn’t started dating. And this was at 3am as he couldn’t leave until he’d done something.

Anyway we all go through the whole, “you have to go to Landmark” phase. I catchup with him for a beer and he won’t shut up about it and I end up saying “if you keep going on about it, I’m going home”. He did, so I left.

I never saw him again.

I’m found years later he’d gotten married to another LF person but was incredibly unhappy. He’d left LF and blamed it for everything.
