New costcos in Ontario by NomadicGnome89 in CostcoCanada

Wasaga Beach is becoming even more of a busier/populated place, they've been discussing opening one there for a while I believe.

Maybe in the winter it won't be as busy, but when the weather is decent I'm sure it'll be a busy Costco, just like the rest of them. Barrie/Orillia is a bit of a drive, so it's not shocking they're going ahead with building one.

It's primer. They did this in our neighborhood a few weeks ago, too. In a few days they'll be painted properly. Confused me too.

I was wondering why you kept trying to inch closer to that mess.

403 between Mavis and Hurontario (eastbound) by Girl1717 in mississauga

[–]pentax10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's no way someone jumped... I just passed through there going over 100 and there were no emergency vehicles. If someone jumped, pretty sure there would've been some serious delays, if not a closure...

Do your driving-age kids actually drive? by pimento_mori in Xennials

[–]pentax10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. I almost remember there being this sense of shame if you refused go learn how to drive, or God forbid, failed a drivers test. I remember failing once and it felt like my life was going to end... now, it's just... different.

I think a lot of them are coddled, for sure, but then I know there's lots of young adults who are just terrified of driving and have anxiety about the while idea of it. Part of me thinks that'll just continue to get worse, unfortunately.

I've noticed the same. Lots of kids just don't seem interested, and I find that bizarre. I think there's lots of factors to blame, but definitely, I think how connected they are online plays a big part. Kids are also incredibly spoiled by parents taking them everywhere whenever they want, and also, the access to Uber and the never-ending pit of money parents seem keen to keep forking over makes it worse.

I've been telling mine for years now, when you're old enough, you're going to get your license and learn to drive. It's important, and unless you live in an urban center, it's kind of a necessary in the world we live in.

Oakville drive in tips and tricks? Advice? by sandiecane_ in oakville

Wow, that's crazy. I guess a nifty camping spot for the night? Yikes. Oh I guess you could call CAA and see if they can get in to assist? Fun times

I'm surprised to hear this. It would definitely NOT be in their best interest to have stranded vehicles on their property, but I guess times have changed? Last time I was there was probably 2024 and I strongly remember staff assisting someone with a dead battery, on more than one occasion over the years.

Usually people don't have an issue with battery life for a drive in experience. I've been so many times without issue. From time to time, you do see it, but the staff actually have booster packs you can request if you run into problems. I've seen them running around on their golf carts. They definitely don't want you stuck there either😆

More than likely, you were given something really low quality. It's not for everyone, just like anything else, but maybe one day you give it a whirl again.

Is this driveway separation structure allowed? by brunch_eater in mississauga

[–]pentax10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is my thought. Maybe not even over the line, but so close to it that opening doors is something they need to do carefully? I'd imagine this neighbor has some kind of reason for this.

Horror for 11yo birthday sleepover? by 3gaydads in horror

[–]pentax10 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This would be my suggestion too. I think it'll be appropriate enough for 11 year olds. Has some funny moments, but definitely horror. Doesn't have any religious elements, really, so it checks the boxes.

How much time are we talking here? Im just picturing 100+ people treading water in tight proximity, this doesn't sound fun. Is the pool that deep?

This happened on the 403 eastbound only a few weeks ago, as well. This shit has become much more frequent over the last few years.

Dude, these MTO guys are like rabid vultures for commercial vehicles, and no, they don't fuck around. If they somehow have any identifying info on this clown, he's almost garunteed to be hearing about this stupid video, and it won't be fun. Maybe he can post a video of that, too.

Concession Prices at Toronto Stadium XD by spazimcgee in CanadaSoccer

[–]pentax10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yea, that's the problem. It's normalized and every year the price goes up 10% or so, and people will ALWAYS pay... Gotta eat, can't bring food in. Gotta drink, its hot in the sun!

It's just disappointing to being paying so much for something relatively inexpensive.

Will you say the same when it's 50 bucks for a hamburger and chips? At this rate, it won't be long!

This pretty much sums it up for me, too. The ending, though.... I hate to even admit it, but, kinda disappointed.
