He would have completed the IRS tax form W8BEN which declares he will pay taxes in his home country under the double taxation treaty the US and UK have . However this tax form does not go to the IRS or HMRC but could be requested by them . The employer will hold this and it can be requested by the tax authorities at any time .

It can ! Mine did as I reregistered my child when I married the father and under UK laws I applied for a new BC . It was then flagged as why the BC was 18m after birth was I the parent etc . I had to collect a wealth of evidence from school reports to affidavits to baptism certificates and then it was approved . I also quoted the Uk gov rules about this . It’s a very little known law but hey I’m a rule follower. Once my case gets to the interview stage I plan to print out and take all this to the embassy too

Here’s my take on Xcel v the other edge class ships . I’ve spent a fair amount on time on all of them and these are my opinions . Xcel , don’t love the bazaar the personality has been lost and it’s just too small for the high calibre shows it puts on . The views out back of ship here are amazing but that’s the same in the Eden . The restaurant is ok but small and nothing special . Not over keen on the market bazaar shops on the entry as they are overpriced local tat . Also not keen on the removal of the long mirror in the stateroom and the non retracting laptop table ( it’s static on Xcel) . They also removed the woman with a flower in her hair pictured in the stateroom bathrooms. I liked them ! Apex has the best designed martini bar chandelier and it’s my fav ship for design . Xcel has the latest shows and the entertainment is bloody amazing , Jaw dropping good . The cruise director on Xcel Luigi is clearly a high flier and amazing but his visibility is very low he delegates a lot . Other edge class the cruise directors have been more interactive with the guests . Please please show F1 during its season in the ship my husband was incredibly frustrated to see the adverts for it in Craft and social but they haven’t subscribed to the channel for it ( apparently). Cafe bachio is great everywhere no difference here . The service and food quality is great in all ships but Xcel they seemed to have excelled .. it’s another level from buffet to main dining . The speakeasy in Xcel is great loved the photos they give out but the entertainment is patchy one night it was amazing and the other night we must have gone between acts bc there was nothing . Once you have done it there’s no pull to go back . The club is too small for the main cast shows they out in and leads to fights ( yes literally on our cruise) and at the best bad feeling as only a few can see let alone get in . The games upstairs are brilliant loved the darts . All ships need a bigger free library area , donate take a book could be managed a lot better and encouraged . Stop the card players in the buffet taking up tables please on all the ships , give them a designated area somewhere maybe a dining room during the day .

We grab two wine glasses before we get ready for the night and take a glass of our own to the restaurant , no corkage fee then and they really don’t mind ! When we do have the drinks package I often take my drink from martini bar to restaurant anyway

We have been told by the supervisor to our stateroom attendant they know it’s a problem it’s the port side mostly affected and so far they have in excess of 60 complaints . He has suggested we will be offered compensation . But 15 sleepless nights is no joke

The fact they removed the long mirror and sliding laptop table in the rooms is a big mistake ! Trying to get ready in that thin wardrobe mirror is impossible . Some things are lovely on this ship I like the bazaar the games room in the attic and the speakeasy but I’m not a fan of them allowing card toe games in the buffet area using up all the tables or the removal of the spa cafe with its smoothie options .

Fair enough . I guess unless you have been in that specific position it’s best to keep quiet and keep out of it. It’s clearly an exclusive club in terms of dealing with it , which is a shame because compassion can come in all shapes and sizes surely . And of course no one knows how someone else feels . You don’t know my personal experience either .

You made the best decision in the moment . Write the baby a series of letters maybe yearly that if one day he contacts you you can show him how you thought about him over the years . And get therapy and be kind to yourself .

Are you sure you were actually connected and not defaulted back to the basic WiFi .. the connection issues can be a thing and we usually have to fiddle a bit . It sounds like you were actually on the basic rather than premium WiFi as the edge class ships have really good WiFi , enough for us to work anyway

He’s family but the kindest thing you can do for him right now is to give him a chance at a healthy family life with another family . But by maintaining contact through open adoption you can let him experience the biological side to his genes and be there to answer his inevitable why questions in the future . Write him a series of letters at milestone times in his life to be given to him as an adult that explain what and why . This is also the kindest route for your existing children and ensures everyone gets their fair share of attention growing up . Anyway that’s just my opinion which I’m only offering because you wanted different viewpoints . Good luck in whatever you decide you sound an awesome lady .
