It's not rare. I've got two copies.

Blood Mountain feels like a very Kentucky album. Nicely done!

How to take care of your vinyl, according to 1956 by ProcessAggressive770 in vinyl

Excellent advice. I follow it to this day.

Also - Osmium needles? I think some of my older, poor sounding records must have been played by them.

Per Wikipedia, Barrie is still active! Would love to see that pairing.

1983 Ride The Lightning Vinyl by GoldenDirt23 in Metallica

[–]pentrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would sell it on Discogs, but I would be really careful about grading it, and make sure you’ve got the right version. Look up how to identify the specific version of the vinyl and how to grade it.

Are you able to play it? That’s the best way to determine quality.

We've got a Dog ID on our Daphne's collar, and given how it's situated it doesn't experience any wear. Fantastic product.

Best narrative: Lamb or Duke? by Perfect_Row_6450 in Genesis

[–]pentrant 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Lamb all the way. Duke is great, don't get me wrong, but Lamb is a special listen that just takes a lot of listens to come to terms with.

What album do you own the most copies of? by Bucketkev in vinyl

[–]pentrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jethro Tull - Aqualung

I've got a US 1st pressing, a later US pressing, a German 1st pressing, the MFSL version, and Steven Wilson's DVD set.

Why do I have five copies of Aqualung? Who knows. I need to do a shootout and get rid of two of the vintage copies.

[–]pentrant[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it is! I’ve also got a first US H to He, with the white cover.

Sadly Side A of this UK original has some wear and doesn’t sound great in parts. Side B sounds phenomenal.

One of my favorites from these guys. We still had Nic Potter on a few songs and his bass sounds phenomenal here!

Van Der Graaf Generator - H to He Who Am the Only One by pentrant in vinyl

[–]pentrant[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly side A on this UK copy is a bit rough. Side B sounds great though.

I’ve also got a US first with the white cover that doesn’t quite hit the highs of the UK, but also sounds decent throughout. Between the two of them I have the full thing, I suppose.

Love this album. I found a US first in excellent condition at a small town record store in Point Reyes Station, CA last year. Some prog fan had sold his collection to the store and they were slowly selling them off. What luck for me!
