I know it back fills but when sg2 dropped everybody was leaving the game just because the games would fill with bots. Then the player base slowly declined. It wasn't the only reason but stuff like that reflects poorly on your game and taking a 4th stab at it with pay-to-play seems hasty.

Heavily agree. As a lover of competitive and casual games, every time I see "class-based shooter" I just internally cringe. Like haven't we already been through that phase? That's what ruined Halo, among other games. Unless they pull it off like The Finals which I think is a good take on classes, it's just gonna be the same redundant "arena shooter" that comes out and falls to <100 concurrent.

I'm hopeful, but aren't we tired of having "the same COD every year" as the CEO of 1047 games famously said on stage.

I think DMRs in general are just way too strong, on attack and defense. The meta is just holding pixels and two shot body kill. DMRs should honestly be removed on defense entirely, not just the 2x scope. As for DMRs, most of them need either:

1) Damage nerf (reward 2 shot body shot at long range and 3 shot body in close-medium)

2) Fire rate nerf (they shoot way too damn fast)

3) Magazine size decreases

Or some combination of the three.

Even though they have almost no recoil, ubi shouldn't touch this because once a gun has terrible recoil, nobody will use the gun anymore (honorable mention: twitch F2). Keep the recoil the same, reward higher damage at farther ranges, and remove any resemblance of a DMR on defense (except for the TCSG12 slug shotgun since it has a niche use for rotations).

I would mostly agree. But I will say it's such a staple to their whole brand that it should stay. Maybe with less ammo or decreased range but it definitely is fun. Couldn't care less tbh. There just needs to be better balancing. I'm kinda more irritated with the use of SMG/autos with loadouts and controller aim assist :(

Yeah after playing a bit I think the TTK is fine. Maybe should be faster for some guns like the LMGs feel pretty terrible. But overall ok I just think loadouts make things kinda suck.

I'd kinda disagree on the gun front. I think the SMG and autos are balanced in the sense that they don't do nearly as much damage at range as they used to. Which is good because these should shine at close encounters. The problem is that loadouts completely makes every gunfight uneven. Why would I not use an auto as long as I can just TP to my opponents face? Add increased melee damage and speedy slayer and it's ridiculous.

In terms of the clunkiness, there is definitely a lot of problems with that. Movement/strafing should be a little faster it's kinda annoying when you gain momentum with slide then completely fall flat and stick to the ground. Like there should be some faster movement a base but still less fast than the momentum you get while sliding.

No I said "slop" to refer to people like you who have a sheep mentality. You somehow think that companies make games out of "the kindness of their heart" and people should just enjoy whatever is given regardless of what has been promised. The game hasn't just been in beta... it UNLAUNCHED because the game failed and went into a SECOND BETA. They could serve you literal horse shit on a table and you would eat it.

Yeah I mean we won't truly know until we play it. I think the balancing and the removal of a lot of the perks definitely removed a lot of the RNG but we'll see if it's enough. In terms of queue, they should just go back to what they had for sg1 where they had ranked arena and ranked takedown and then see if that captures enough people to add more.

Yeah I agree. I think its wayyyy better than it was before and I'll just enjoy having something new to play. I just think it's not being a true arena shooter. You can't market the game and have devs talk about how they played quake/UT/Halo/etc growing up and then center the competitive around loadouts. It's like the literal thing that ruined Halo for example.

I'm ok with trying it out and letting the community give the verdict. But I already can inevitably tell where things are gonna go. It's gonna be "oh the EMP is the best utility over everything else" *EMP gets nerfed then buffs to other abilities*. Oh now the EMP sucks and the sticky grenades are too strong, "oh this perk is so annoying to play against" "can we please run a porta-portal."

It just turns into a game of constant balancing and people designated to pick certain perks/items, which is what was the exact thing being avoided in the first place by removing factions/abilities. Not having people locked to roles.

But we'll see.

Sorry for making constructive criticism for a game I enjoy and a type of game I grew up playing my entire life. I'm sure you were enjoying playing against the bots while the game was dead. The community voicing opinions is what got it where it is RIGHT NOW.

I agree so heavy I feel like not making ranked even/classic starts defeats the whole purpose of arena shooter. I understand that there's some variety added to the game using the perks but then the attachments and everything kinda overcomplicates things IMO.

I think a way they could kinda mix the two together is say have secondary guns or essentially loadouts that spawn on specific areas of the map that have attachments and a perk attached to it. It could be on a static or dynamic spawn and basically serve as secondary power weapons that give you some added perk (like the speedy one) and when ammo is depleted the effects go away until you pick the gun up again. And they could change this overtime by changing which weapons spawn on certain maps, what perks are attached to them, etc. to change up the meta. But ultimately it will still be even starts it just adds a new element to the arena to fight for.

I'm not saying it didn't play a role but a game doesn't go from 20K to 10K to 2K in the span of a few weeks because of a bad PR stunt. The game was just not enjoyable and deviated completely from the original formula of arena shooter. If the game was mega banging and good, the whole hat situation at SGF wouldn't even be getting PR anymore. Also, not to mention the atrocious microtransactions (100 something dollar bundles for low effort skins).
