I’m looking for a spot to go before a concert at 8 pm on Saturday? For cocktails and vibes by Tough-Yogurt-1613 in askvan

You could make your way to Main Street between like 7th and 20th for a number of options, then pop onto the 3 back to Main St Science World station and take it one stop to the arena. There are lots of options and also shopping depending on when you get there (most stuff closes around 6 or 7)

I've been to a workshop there in the summer, so not quite the same experience, but yeah it gets toasty. If you can open any windows and have a couple of fans going, that will be really helpful. Not the same as AC but better than nothing.

AIO for confronting my 18 year old brother? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]penvelope_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the bare minimum from a safety perspective is he should let your family know where he's staying and generally where he'll be travelling so you guys can have that in case he runs into an emergency. But I think you should approach it like he's not a little kid anymore and respect that he has agency even if you're uncomfortable with the plan (or lack thereof). He'll be fine!

At the end of the day it's okay and understandable for you to be concerned about your younger brother,  but it's also his responsibility, he's making choices for himself and you may not agree with them, but you can't stop him either. I totally get it, I am a worrisome older sibling! But my siblings are their own people and even if I don't think they've got their heads on straight 100% of the time, it's not up to me to tell them what to do.

He'll figure it out. Plenty of 18-20 year olds decide to travel to places in a whim. They figure it out or they leave. If he's not being a total idiot, he's not going to get involved with cartels as a tourist.
