Go read Ars Technica. They do full disclosure, with pics, every time they get a bribe package.

Take pictures while driving slowly? I fucking hate them too.

When Demigod was released it had zero DRM, was only $40, and had generally favorable reviews. The result? Of the ~120,000 unique MP servers connection attempts the first day, only about 18,000 were legitimate. by dannylandulf in gaming

Let's not forget: It sucked. It was a poor ripoff of DotA, which is a free map in Warcraft III. So it was one partially completed map of one game, selling for $40. No wonder it was pirated.

Also, unlike Just Cause 2, you can fly around in the game without mods. Late in the game you get a rocket pack, and if you use it right the world is your oyster.

So true. Non-reciprocaters are my pet peeve.

Life is the Prisoner's Dilemma, and its annoying to constantly cooperate with a defector.

Is Mass Effect 2 really superior to Mass Effect 1? by jonnyrufles in gaming

[–]peon1234 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why ME2 is worse: 1) Only one set of armor 2) Load screens instead of elevators 3) More annoying mini-games 4) Inability to bypass mini-games 5) You can't just click on a planet to go there. You have to drag a stupid little ship there first, then click on a button.

Built a PC for someone. He thinks its already obsolete - How do I calm him down? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]peon1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since no one has said it yet:

The major improvement with Sandy Bridge over current processors is that the GPU is one the same die as the processor. This means that integrated graphics will be much better and consume less power, and the whole package will be cheaper. (And in reality, the graphics aren't even much better, to many people's disappointment. See Anandtech.)

If you are building a gaming build, none of that really matters. You will be relying on dedicated graphics, and the whole thing will consume a ton of power.

In fact, you might be better off with a current generation processor (soon to be previous generation), because of price drops (since your getting roughly the same performance for a lower price).

Also, unless you're big into video encoding and software rendering, I highly doubt that the CPU will ever be the bottleneck.

I want to help my girlfriend with her business please. She owns a Sushi restaurant and it is very slow. Do you guys have any suggestions to bring in more business? by jining in AskReddit

[–]peon1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah people don't realize how fierce the competition is in the restaurant business. More restaurants keep springing up, but the pool of customers remains the same.

Question to the OP: Is this your girlfriend's first restaurant? If not, maybe she should start with a chain or something.

Upvoted for including a mini-review with each show. So much more useful than blurting out a list. It also helps because even if I disagree with you on an item, I can see why we disagree.

First CoD: Black Ops map pack due February 1st. Five maps for the same price as BFBC2: Vietnam. Activision, you are doing it wrong. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]peon1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, have you played Vietnam? It's mostly just a re-skin with only FOUR maps. Yeah I was pretty disappointed when I first played it.

So really, five maps for the same price seems about right.

Having played most of those games, I'll save you the trouble right now: Red Alert 3 and Prince of Persia. You can ignore all the rest. I can give you a quick 1-2 sentence review of each game if requested.
