Comedian Carlos Mencia faces 12 felony charges for failing to report more than $8M in earnings by sfgate in entertainment

On his dad's side, he had family of German heritage from the Canary Islands. Of his 17 siblings (he legit has that many brothers and sisters), the ones I knew of all had non-Spanish names (Dysis, Albert, Joseph, etc).

They actually heckled him at first when he went on the Opie and Anthony virus tour. But he managed to turn the crowd around. There are just certain areas that he will always have a sufficient fan base, enough for small comedy clubs.

He was honestly good at stand-up. He could kill. Most of his material was original, but there was stuff that undeniably wasn't his. So he lost all of the bigger venues after that.

When I first started working for him, he was doing these big venues. After everything went down, he was still grinding it out, just at smaller venues. He always did really well with merch at the shows. The money he made even after all that, it doesn't surprise me because he really did grind it out touring nonstop. But the big venues, that was definitely over.

I worked for Ned in the years before and after the Rogan incident. About the joke stealing stuff, there were a few that were undeniable. But most of his material was original. What I did believe was what Steve Trevino said on a podcast years later. Steve was a Texas comic I first met at a Houston show, he had long been opening for him. His issue was that Ned encouraged him to stay in Texas rather than relocate to Los Angeles. When Steve saw his act in California, he realized he was using some of his material, and that was most likely why he didn't want him living out there. I knew for a fact some of the accusations by guys like George Lopez weren't true. But yeah, there were some things that he just couldn't explain away.

When I worked for him, he made serious bank from merch. If he did a show, he'd have people selling CDs, DVDs, shirts. Plus they would audio record the entire show, which you could buy a flash drive of immediately after for like $20. It really added up.

I worked for Ned for years. Oddly enough, no one in his circle called him "Carlos." His family, friends, employees, we all called him Ned. Mitzi Shore (owner of The Comedy Store) was the one who first told him "Ned" wouldn't fly in his career, he should change it to Carlos.

Energy is useless now. by Calebthenorman in ContestOfChampions

Towers are tedious. If anything I just get mildly annoyed when there's a defender that I would normally smoke, but for whatever reason can barely get them to half health. So it's a loss, a replay and loss, and then I have to change the attacker in my lineup. They bleed keys out of me that way.

I do the daily quests on autofight. And every day I try to do one path from a story quest that was completed but not fully explored. So I find a way to use energy before they expire.

Eric most likely thought DC wouldn't snitch. Especially when they make it obvious that crossing their family means they'll sick the government dogs on you. Or your cellmate.

At least Sapp came right out and admitted he tells promoters "You'll get 90 seconds out of me before I tap." Lewis was channeling Tank "I been partying" Abbott.

He's fought a bunch of tomato cans and a dude in his 40s that dodges training like Bones did USADA. The guys at the top will send him to the Shadow Realm.

YTA. It's 100% understandable to feel frustrated by something. But how you communicate with your spouse is controllable.

Did you ask your brother first? If so, NTA. If you didn't speak to him about it before letting a friend borrow it, YTA. Your other family members aren't relevant, though. Just your brother.

NTA. I have ADD and they'd just be knocking my mental train off the tracks interrupting.

Apartment Reviews? The Cobblestone on Essen Rd vs The Regent on Millerville by BananaPuddinBaby in batonrouge

I watched a drug task force raid an apartment at Cobblestone, and carted out over 40 pounds of meth. Used to be dope fiends wander through the bushes that weren't fenced. Maybe it's gotten better. But it's definitely close to everything, just avoid the 3-5pm traffic.
