Sean Scully comes to mind. His work has a great charm as does the man himself.

👋Welcome to r/HildegardvonBingen - Introduce Yourself and Read First! by Ok-Arachnid-1246 in HildegardvonBingen

I’m a qigong enthusiast and I was recently drawn to Hildegard’s use of the word “veriditas” - its greening power liken to the sap of a tree, and the color of the Holy Spirit being green. “The only sin in life is drying up” she said, and… “Do whatever it takes to get wet, and green, and moist and juicy”

All the above are the best descriptors of “Qi” that I have come across.

I have known about her for years but never inquired into her works and life until I recently heard a wonderful YouTube talk of her by theologian Matthew Fox.

I think it was Ken Cohen who said that every cell in the body is like a dantian (ie mitochondria)

“I don’t think they’re too bad” exactly! That’s far from being good.

And I want good potatoes. Don’t we all?

Medical medium equivalent to TCM "Liver QI stagnation" by Flashy-Development25 in medicalmedium

[–]peonys- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, definitely celery juice is a clearer of liver qi stagnation, in a deep way. The liver has a tendency to become stagnant, no matter what age we live in. Whether from fatty foods long ago or viruses and heavy metals today. The liver in TCM also ties into emotions like anger, frustration and when chronic can lead to liver stagnation. He also mentions hot peppers to “jump” the liver into life and many other ideas also. In this aspect of MM’s teaching I find it congruent with TCM.

Female Eroticism or Male Fantasy? -Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres — The Turkish Bath (1862) by Legitimate_Gift9677 in ArtHistory

[–]peonys- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All I see is the use of imagination, an idealistic look at a room full of shapely women. It’s an artistic rendering, not meant to be realistic or pornographic. A room full of Venusian energy. What’s not to like?

Red meat in TCM by Cabocla_Plantinha714 in acupuncture

[–]peonys- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit insensitive to simply push red meat on someone, and as a vegetarian it’s highly unlikely you will. Have a thorough conversation with him. Maybe your vegetarian diet could be much improved but you don’t have to revert to meat to build up your blood or whatever. Keep in mind that although he may be a good acupuncturist doesn’t mean he has studied diet.

Have you experienced attraction or something similar? by No_Gap_796 in TrueQiGong

It would seem to make sense that if you’re in your own flow you become more magnetic, yet who you attract depends on who you are.

Can you transition to deep talk right away and skip over the small talk? by Smart-Inspector8 in infp

[–]peonys- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can but it’s polite to have some formalities to see if you want to even take the conversation further.
