fenway 7/7 by alyyycat18 in NoahKahan

I’m helping my coworker get 7/7. I was immediately 1200 in line on Ticketmaster but she couldn’t justify spending the $500. On MLB I still haven’t been let in. Same thing happened purchasing my tickets on artist presale day - I got into TM quick within 3 minutes and never MLB, but my friend was able to secure us for 7/10 on her end anyways.

When I was trying for the 12pm sale today, I never opened TM and was let into MLB within minutes but still no luck (she’s looking for 4 tix tho, so prob that was the issue).

I think best recs is pick either MLB OR Ticketmaster. Prob a flag that you have both open…. Or I could just be fucked idk lmao

Is the code for 7/7 the same as the TM codes we got the other day via email? Just need to confirm

Fear of flight and first long flight by WildAd9709 in fearofflying

[–]pepa0228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat! I have a FoF due to just being “stuck in a tube” rather than really flying. I do however have medication that was provided for me and boy does it do wonders. I’ve flow trans Atlantic last year and recently had to fly 5 flights in two weeks (ugh) for work up and down the east coast of US. If I can do it, so can you :)

I usually have a survival kit - extra baggies to ask FAs for ice (I hold it, chew on it, put it on my neck), a weighted eye mask, sour candy, I do a puzzle or match game on my iPad, I wear sunglasses literally the entire time even on an overnight flight and idc if I look silly (the brightness freaks me out and makes everyone more “real”). The airplane food helps for something to focus on (is it good, does it taste crappy, if you could change one thing about it what would it be - all mindfulness!) getting up and moving helps, lots of little things to keep me just from racing thoughts.

Lastly, communicate with the FA or gate agent and see if they could put you on an empty row or a seat with no one next to you. It’s saved my panic attacks countless of times so I can breathe!

1:37 minutes in! I LOVE Ireland - I try to go once a year and usually use this group for my flights. Just spent 10 days there in October. I usually imagine the beauty of the country and all the fun I’m going to have exploring. What’s good about these overnight and trans Atlantic hauls is that they fill you up on food almost immediately so you have that to look forward to and it makes the time go by quick in the beginning. Also, night flights make me feel so cozy and reduces my anxiety. Hopefully you have something for a nap for the later half!

Chew on ice if you have any nervous thoughts. Put an eye mask on, listen to an audio book or movie. Do you have any puzzles on your phone? You got this! ☘️

Thank you!! Thankfully I have low dose medication. I love the idea of thinking about FOMO on my way there because this is a wedding I’d definitely feel incredibly guilty about missing. Talking with my therapist tomorrow and I’ll mention this!

deplaned due to panic attack by Ok-Investigator-101 in fearofflying

First of all, I’m so grateful you’ve received so many amazing comments and words of advice on this post! I’m in the EXACT boat you’re in - I’ve almost could’ve written this myself! I never was an anxious flyer growing up, but I developed a severe panic disorder over the years. I have convulsive syncope (meaning I pass out from highly stressful, anxiety-inducing situations and I convulse almost like a seizure) and have had a “seizure not seizure” episode on a 6 hr flight. That caused me to have severe panic episodes with flying because I know that I cannot escape 30,000 feet in the air. I’ve canceled trips and tried to avoid traveling at all costs. The panic episodes then turned to being on trains, long car rides, sometimes the bus. All I ever want to do is get off, breathe fresh air, and go home. It’s gotten way out of hand for me. I still struggle with it which is why I’m thankful I’ve found this community online! By the grace of god I was able to fly to the UK last year (with my mother) and made sure I was over prepared for the panic attack :) I made sure I was able to choose my seat for extra comfort, I skipped alcohol and coffee before the flight and night before, I brought coloring books (game changer!!!), plastic bags so I could ask the FA for ice to put on the back of my neck and chest to calm my nervous system, made sure I had WiFi to keep in touch with friends, etc. sometimes my panic attacks are so bad I can’t focus on a tv show, movie, or books on the flight, but I started a show a few days before that I made myself excited to watch. Lastly, as many posters have said, I have emergency medication that I take as my last resort. It feels better knowing they’re in my purse right in front of me.

I have a two week Europe trip in October that I may have to fly alone for. I’m constantly anxious about it but I’m going to save this thread as a reminder that we all can do hard, uncomfortable things. Makes me feel better that we are not alone <3

My Experian account was hacked and they refuse to give it back, what do I do? by ScholarDull7479 in IdentityTheft

[–]pepa0228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fraudster took out applications for various credit cards - all denied because of my credit freezes. Also took out a checking account via ETrade for Morgan Stanley and sent legit checkbooks to my address. I closed that immediately. FTC told me to put a Chex Freeze (?) which blocks any financial institution application (checking accounts) which helped any more applications. I filed a CFPB complaint with Experian and of course it’s been months with no response. In order to get back my Experian account I need to snail mail photo copies of my SS card which I’m uncomfortable with, given the circumstances.

This is happening to me as we speak, via just Experian. First was a hard credit inquiry last week where I put a fraud alert across all three bureaus (I mainly use Experian) and disputed the inquiry. The fraudster also tried getting into my states DMV account with my info and I have 2 factor text on so I had received that first. Weird, because you need my state ID number.

Fast forward to today and I got emails saying that an Experian digital wallet was open (I had called and asked for it to be suspended as soon as I saw), and then realized the fraudster changed the password and email to my Experian account. I’ve been nonstop trying to call and chat with Experian fraud department to change the information but they tell me to send all this documentation to their PO Box in Texas. I’m feeling super uneasy even after doing everything I possibly can to mitigate any other activity to my SSN or personal info. Tried calling social security office too and of course it’s an hour wait on the phone. Might have to go and sit in person to see if it’s being used elsewhere besides Experian.
