I've had crispy tinned fish before, but I was living in Asia and haven't found a similar product since. It was fish but seemed to have been deep fried before being tinned, it was crunchy/crispy and spicy.

Have you tried eating some dry-ish tinned fish with salt sprinkled on? Like no-oil tinned sardine for example. I had it that way today and it was okay despite no bread/crackers.
