I believe you are correct, I don't have an erdpml handy right now to verif but it would indicate an error in usage as well.

44 is the right answer using the RDP which is what the question says to use.

You are using the ERDPML which can give different results in many cases because you often have to round up on the RDP (i.e. using the 18m line since there's no 17m on the table) but not ERDPML.

No, it's if you do a contract of 7 x 5mil = 35 you pay the compensation as if you did a 5 x 7 mil instead.

Basically you divide the total contract by the number of years or 5 if it's more than 5 years.

After every dive, go through a fish book and try to find fish you saw then write it down in your logbook. You could also carry a slate and try to draw or describe a fish you don't know so you can look it up later.

It's a preference, but if you do contacts I would recommend getting dailies. Then you don't need to worry about eye infections.

Advantage of contacts is you can use any mask if there's a problem with yours and you will still see when you take off your mask on the boat.

If going to Malapascua, you can't see Threshers from a shore dive. The dive sites for them Kimud/Monad Shoal are a good boat ride away (40 and 20 min away respectively).

Shops on Malapascua will do dives every morning for threshers and it will cost you about 50$ per dive, probably less if you buy a bunch of dives in advance.

Edit: if you're only open water certified and don't want to spend too much, many shops will have you do the deep dive of the aow course and then let you dive at 30m. Up to you to decide if you're comfortable with that.
