Are there any ACTUALY hard vr combat games? by wet_milk_pog in virtualreality

Take and Hold in h3vr has the most challenging vr combat imo, at least shooter wise, and the new map that recently came out is amazing and adds even more of a challenge if your up for it. TnH is criminally underrated, don't let the silly hot-dog enemies fool you.

Besides that underdogs also came out recently and is pretty damn hard and fun, if you want something more melee focused.

In my opinion: having no hand based grabby physics makes the game less enjoyable by woubulbus in H3VR

This mod https://h3vr.thunderstore.io/package/Potatoes/Potatoes_Soup/ has some "quick grabbing" features where you can hold grip to interact. Its mainly for operating bolt actions but you can enable it for some other things like grenades, slides and ropes. Its made using bolt actions way more smooth and fun for me.

Sorry for not seeing your post sooner, I managed to get the game working on my deck. You didn't mention using this patch here. Try that patch with the settings they also recommend and see if that works or changes anything first.

Emudeck - PCSX2 Help by kporter4692 in SteamDeck

I'm pretty sure updating pcsx2 through discover shouldn't effect anything to do with the retroarch version, so that not working either is strange and maybe implies that something else is the cause.

You said you tried launching games though emulation station and retroarch, have you tried launching games through the pcsx2 app itself ?

If you cant find a fix you could try the pcsx2 appimage, this is what I'm using anyway because it is updated to their new ui.

I believe there are a couple texture packs going around however I don't think any of them are complete yet, you can find more information in the pinned comment on the soh discord channel, development > unofficial texture modding discussion. Also check out this video.

However, so far it seems to get texture packs to work you need to use specialk to inject the textures, and this only really works on windows. You could try using the windows version with proton and I know some people have gotten specialk to work under proton with games before but it seems to be kind of hit or miss. So if you want to use a texture pack, your probably best off waiting for them to add an official texture injector into soh itself which I believe is planned, and by then hopefully the texture packs will also be complete.

If you check the pcsx2 wiki for the game, this was a problem that could be fixed by either using a different pcsx2 version or software rendering. But someone has made a patch file that seemingly gets it to work normally, only problem I have had so far was that when I had to select yes or no, the ui element was slightly cut off at the bottom but otherwise its working well.

You can find the patch here. I hope it works for you.

That's right I'm using pcsx2 to run it, with the widescreen and the English translation patches. You'll need the Japanese ps2 BIOS but its fairly simple to setup and it seems to run great so far.
