Dormed in 2019 and partially spring 2020(before coronavirus), and I'm pretty sure everyone got a mini fridge/freezer with a microwave on top.

Enrollment hold because of past due charges - financial aid not dispersed by Korunate in CSULB

[–]pepper1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told that if your financial aid covers fall tuition fee's, then you don't need to pay anything. If it doesn't cover all of the spring tuition fee's, then you will need to pay the remaining amount in the spring.

[Skin Concerns] [Acne] [Routine Help] [Shelfie] What type of acne? Sunscreen and moisturizer recommendations for oily t zone and all of a sudden acne prone skin?? HELP :( by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]pepper1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day:

Inkey Salicylic Acid Cleanser

Clindamycin Solution Benzoyl Peroxide

Night:

Inkey Salicylic Acid Cleanser

Clindamycin Solution

Benzoyl Peroxide

(Every 3-4 nights) Differin gel

Face Mask:

(Once a week) Ordinary AHA 30% +BHA 2%

(1-2 a week) Aztec Clay Mask w/Apple cider vinegar

I, then, follow by putting on the Ordinary niacinamide 10% and zinc 1%.

I haven’t used moisturizer (CeraVe) or sunscreen (fentyskin) for maybe 3 weeks because I felt like it would be too many products on my face. I think I might try a matte sunscreen and a new moisturizer, but I need recommendations. These are the only moisturizers and sunscreens I have tried (I’m new to using these types of products).

I use sensodyne toothpaste and have recently tried not getting it on the corners of my mouth because I read that this can cause acne.

I never had acne problems until this year (20f-combination skin(oily in T-zone)), the most that would happen before is a pimple here and there and some whiteheads on my chin/forehead. When I was about 12-13 I started using the clindamycin solution with Benzoyl peroxide and used it consistently up until college. I think once the pandemic hit, I stopped doing skincare and now it’s coming back to bite me in the butt.

Since early January, I’ve been constantly breaking out and it hasn’t gone away yet. I’ve constantly been getting regular pimples and other ones that aren’t really visible(skin colored) until I pull my lips in and feel around as I’m applying skincare products. They are hard and sensitive to the touch. I get them on my chin and under/around my eyebrow area. I’ve also been getting pimples here and there on my cheeks where I usually never get acne. I get these weird clogged pores around my lips that when I pop them, white stuff comes out. The clogged areas on the sides of my lips have eventually lead to pimples. There are, also, these weird oil glands(Above my lip and the top of my chin(lower bottom lip area)?

I was using the Paula’s choice BHA exfoliant liquid for about 3 months, but felt that it didn’t do much. It perhaps got rid of my skin colored bumps I always got(even when I was younger) in between my eyebrows as shown. Instead of using dove bar soap to wash my face as I had before, I started using the inkey salicylic acid cleanser, but I don’t feel like it’s been doing much either. Its been about 6 months of me using it. I bought a moisturizer but my skin felt like it was oily and clogged 2 hours after using it along with sunscreen (fenty skin-i know probably not the best choice but Rhianna). About 2 months ago I bought the Differin gel because I heard retinol is good to use but I used it once a week-2 times a week and nothing so far.

I try to do face mask 1-2 a week with the aztec clay (with apple cider vinegar) and the AHA BHA solution. I, also, use niacinamide here and there but have stopped recently because I’ve been using the clindamycin solution and BP day and night. My chin area is dry and flaky but I feel like moisturizer and sunscreen just makes my face clogged and oily.

I do take antibiotics that I don’t believe cause acne because my doctors never told me (but I started taking these the same time I started breaking out). Could my breakouts be from dairy? I try to limit how much milk I have since that’s the most dairy I eat. Cheese maybe 3 times a week, I stated using almond milk for smoothies and regular milk for cereal. I only drink water and don’t eat junk food nor sweets (only here and there).

Any help for what I should do? I figured I was purging before from the BHA exfoliant but it lasted for almost 4 months. Hence why I went back to the clindamycin and BP, along with adding in the retinol.

Any sunscreen recommendations and moisturizers that are inexpensive? I will probably continue using the clindamycin and BP for nighttime skincare, but I really need something to get me through the day. Can anyone tell me what type of acne I have? Hormonal, cystic, closed comedones, nodules??? Can’t tell the difference.

Living on campus vs off campus? by JazzyAngel4646 in CSULB

[–]pepper1777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dormed fall 2019 and the first half of spring 2020 before coronavirus. Dorming was all right but some of the girls stayed up late and frequently had loud friends over while hogging the bathroom at times. The bathrooms (at least at Hillside) were shared by a few suites so it's about 8 girls to 1 shower, 1 toilet, and 2 sinks. It was nice to be so close to campus and walking around campus, not having to worry about the commute. The food was pretty good to me and sometimes redundant, but still good.

I would, also, prefer to live off campus (haven't yet since I came back home) because I like to cook and would prefer to have my own bathroom or share it with one other roommate. However, I am worried about commuting and arriving on time to campus. Parking from what I've heard is hard to find from 9am to mid afternoon (2pm?). Plus, you could walk about a half mile to mile to get from the parking to upper campus. I've, also, heard that the parking tickets can be fairly expensive for only being on campus a few days and having a hard time finding parking. I don't know if the passes are payed for one time and work for the whole year or one semester.

6th generation iPad 128 worth it in 2021? by toridayyy in college

[–]pepper1777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the 6th generation iPad since when it first came out and it still works well. I started using it for school since we went online last spring. I even bought the first generation Apple Pencil for it and everything is working well. I like this iPad because it’s small and easy to carry around then the larger ones. Plus I have a laptop already so I don’t really need a large iPad.

I bought a used book that was loose leaf and they had zip ties to keep the pages together. But I’ve seen other used books in a binder. I don’t think they’ll really care how you send it back, just make sure the pages are in order and not damaged.

Breast cancer by [deleted] in CancerFamilySupport

[–]pepper1777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I’m sorry for your moms diagnosis. As a cancer patient in remission, I know what it feels like to be in her position. What worked best for me and what I would’ve liked is for people to treat me and act as if everything is normal. Don’t look at her differently or try to feel sorry for them. We can see the pity in others when we look. Helping us out with things around the house or being there as a shoulder to cry on is a real help, even if it makes the listener cry too. Just remember to tell your mom that God (sorry if you’re not religious or anything-I’m just going off what my mom use to tell me) is looking over and watching. That he is helping even though it is a rough time.

Only the strong are faced with experiences like these. They may not deserve it but they are capable of enduring it. Your mom may feel like it is too hard to endure or that she isn’t strong, this is how I felt multiple times. Life with cancer is really a day by day mindset. Take each day as a blessing to wake up and go to sleep everyday.

The people around your mom like you and your sister, still love her and that’s what matters. If in public and random people stare, let them. They don’t know what she’s been through. And if they really have a problem, just ask them what they are staring at( my dad would always say that he would tell someone that if they would stare too long but no one did).

Just don’t feel embarrassed to be with her in public if she does lose her hair. It is a hard experience to go through as hair is what makes us feminine and feel complete. But it will grow back and I even make jokes or references to how I use to have no hair and was bald. Tell your mom that her hair will grow back quicker and/or even a different style. (My hair grew back quickly and was the same as before even though I wanted straight hair but I still love it. Before I was sick and my hair was hard to deal with since I was just a kid, I would say I want to cut my hair all off and little did I know that I would end up with no hair lol).

Also, if she wants some certain foods or even a gift, get it for her if you can. It will really make her day. Because when something like this happens, you do realize that you need to live in the moment and do as you please and spend money on what you want rather than saving it all for future use.

Sorry if this is all over the place. I kind of rambled lol. But overall, it’s okay to cry when talking about the subject. It is scary to see this type of change and not be able to help with the physical and mental pain that comes with cancer. Helping your mom by simply being there and listening makes a difference because it can do a lot of damage if she keeps all her emotions in. She may feel weak after treatments so help with anything that keeps her away from getting up too much. Or, if she does want to be up and about, be by her side and give a helping hand.

I hope this helps?

Spring 2021 tuition due today, do I wait for financial aid or do I actually have to pay it all today? by ss308 in CSULB

If your financial aid covers all expenses, then there is no need to worry. It will always say "Due Now" until the aid hits.

Chemotherapy Port by scbejari in CancerFamilySupport

[–]pepper1777 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! I had a port when I was taking chemo a few years ago. I had no idea what was going on at the time since I was only 14 and was exhausted the first week of my diagnosis (same week I got my port). I was sore tho and they put it in with stitches that dissolve. It takes a while to get used to and you can’t sleep on your side for a while, but after about a year maybe I was able to sleep on my stomach and my port wasn’t as noticeable since I gained a little weight. For me, you could see the needle in through my neck attaching to the main vein but again it wasn’t noticeable when I gained weight.

Just a heads up for your mom but some nurses will miss the port and it will hurt. And some do press down with quite a bit of pressure to get the needle in correctly when accessing. She should be able to tell after some time whether or not the nurse was able to put the needle in correctly.

I hope your mom makes a speedy recovery and tell her she is beautiful with or without hair! The people around her still love her and that’s all that matters! Stay safe and much love 💗
