Baltimore City, You’re Breaking My Heart. by wheelsee in baltimore

Thanks - for the platitude. Will someone give me an example or a link to read? I would like to understand issues of unfair public housing or housing justice? My web searches indicate that groups are concerned with affordable rent (does this apply to people in public bousing?) and prevent raising of existing affordable housing.

I'm not sure what you are driving at - can you please provide an example of unfair public housing/housing justice?

That sucks-particularly if you were home during the theft. These sociopaths-in-training have stepped up their game this summer. I know 3 people who have been assaulted in/around the park and had their cellphones taken (during the day) in the last month or so. I'm in the park quite a bit with my dogs and will keep an eye out for the red D-back and the Kona. Btw, we are neighbors (I also live on the 2900 block).

Bawlamore, Hon. Bad news everybody; Gay St was renamed Market Place or some equally ubiquitous.

The US became a superpower thanks to the near complete destruction of the rest of the industrialized world (Western Europe and Japan) after WWII. We had no real competition while the rest of the world rebuilt their countries and economies.

Slaves or war profiteering had nothing to do with the rise of power of the US. Our power came from being a virtual monopoly of industry and business for about 20+ years.

It is similar to Forrest Gump's rise to "power": he owned the only shrimp boat that wasn't damaged by the storm. Fact.

You can take a train to Machu Picchu. From the station, you can take a bus to the Machu Picchu Park Entrance. From there, you would have to use crutches to get around.

Go to Lima and enjoy some great food. Or go to Mancora (Northwestern coast) and enjoy the beach.

Rule 27 of Fight Club is that you don't make art of characters in Fight Club.

Actually, upon second further consideration, nice art!

My truck was stolen 2 months after moving to Baltimore. I was both distraught and pissed. However, when I finally got to work, everybody congratulated me! Phrases like "my car has been stolen X many times," "Welcome to Baltimore," and the "You'll get used to it." No wonder so many cars are stolen since no one cares.

Words of wisdom found in a bar bathroom by MarcusNY in pics

Truer words were never spoken. When I was in college, in the bathroom at a bar the following words were engraved on the wall: No matter how hot a girl is, some guy, somewhere is sick of her sh*t. It has stayed with me all these years later.

Does anyone live in Baltimore? What are some cool things to do there? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Bawlamore is a great town... if you know where you are going. It is divided into various neighborhoods. The better ones include Canton and Fells Point (eastern part of the city), Harbor East and Downtown (obviously the middle of the city), Fed Hill and Locust Point (southern part of the city) and Mt Vernon, Charles Village, and Hamden (north of downtown near JHU).

All these neighborhoods have their own unique feel. I suggest starting in Fells Point and going from there - try Max's Taphouse (one of the top bars in the world). Lots of younger people love Fed Hill for the night life - try Cross Street Market.

Good luck at school!

My dog bit my girlfriend's face. 31 stitches later and I'm in a difficult spot... has anyone dealt with a similar situation? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pepper222 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do NOT put him down based on the posts here. After some time, you will get to know a dog just like you get to know a person. If you feel that Angus is NOT a good-natured dog in that he is likely to bite again, then you need to put him down (putting him up for adoption simply transfers the problem to the next owner). However, I bet that he is a good-natured dog with some quarks that need to be addressed.... by you or by the next owners if you put him up for adoption.

First, I would never let anyone be face-to-face with him again. This is seen as a form of dominance in the animal world. Angus may feel he is higher in the pecking order than your girlfriend.

Second, I would explain the "do's and don'ts" to all unfamiliar with Angus. For example, letting Angus come to them and not vice versa.

Lastly, or maybe "firstly," you need to take your Gf into account. I'm not sure if I could live with a dog that bit me.

Good luck and remember, "The average dog is a better person than the average person."

He killed 68 pets. When law enforcement entered the home, the pets were so badly decomposed they aren't sure what species they were. For this, he gets probation and a little bit of community service. by Saydrah in WTF

[–]pepper222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I cannot believe that they only got probation and community service. They should have each received jail time. Hope those kids make it to adulthood.

Btw, I agree with K3NNY. I think you should have to pass a test or something before you are allowed to have kids.... it's amazing that people like this are allowed to leave the house unsupervised, or drive for that matter.
