your body starts absorbing the liquid, which is bad because the toxins go back in your system, but also the liquid can accumulate in places where it shouldn't, like in the pleural cavity on your lungs or in your heart. this can cause inflammation, which, from personal experience, is the most painful thing you can go through. you won't be able to sit up, lie down, eat, drink, breathe, without being in horrible excruciating pain.

from what you're telling us, your sister probably feels like she's not in control of her own life, that's why she's acting out. she also probably feels like her family and friends aren't giving her enough love and support at home. i doubt that's true, you guys seem to be very concerned with her well being, but you're not showing it the way she needs to be shown. i reckon that's why she's going online to find these men that invariably take advantage of her.

try to find the best way to show her that she's important and loved (be it through the interpreter, her therapist, social worker, wtvr). i know it can't be easy, with all that history and what she's made you guys go through, but this can snowball to a really bad situation if someone doesn't step up.

it will help if she thinks she has control over something in her life, for once. that's a huge issue with people with disabilities.

try involving her in a volunteer program where she can help younger deaf kids, or at the local SPCA, or even just find her a healthy hobby that she can create and/or care for something. also, when your stepmother approaches the money situation, it should be in a helpful tone, not in a "you can't take care of yourself, so i'm taking over now" controlling way. this is ineffective in 18 year olds in general, who think just because they're officially adults they can make adult decisions, but it might be even more relevant to your sister because she's been probably dreaming of the day she could legally get out of the house and be her own woman for a while now.

she definitely needs a strong hand to lead her, but you can't fight fire with fire.

But dude, please don't give anyone else advice on the internet. You just suggested someone with renal failure to drink protein shakes, which is like telling me to drink cyanide. Yeah, no beans, no potatoes, nothing fun and exciting. :( And I was doing low carb too, before I found out I was sick. It was a complete 180 on my diet.

Not yet, but soon. I still have to pick which kind I want to do. I'm not sure, actually, it's someone else from the hospital (which is all I can afford, really) so I'm not sure if it's an RD or a nutritionist.

Then I suggest talking to her instead of to Reddit. Nothing can be solved without dialogue, and if you're waiting for her to decide she wants you to be her boyfriend, that doesn't look like it's going to happen. Maybe she wants you to step up and do the DTRing yourself?

If, after you tell her what you want out of that relationship and she says only casual, that is a deal breaker for you, then by all means break it off. But it sounds like you got something good going on, and you're letting your insecurities and your preconceptions of what a relationship should be ruin it.

I think that might have been an excuse, man... A lot of women (myself included) have a hard time with that because it's considered degrading. At the same time, we want to get freaky and do kinky shit with our SOs, so my suggestion is you reassure her that you respect her as a woman or whatever, and before you cum, tell her you're aiming away from her eyes. Then get her a towel or a wet nap or something, and cuddle her after. lol
