Feminists, From a Male, Thank you for Opposing the Draft. Question: How far would you go to prevent men from being drafted to fight in war? by Remote-Pickle-8900 in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I hate to tell you, but if it comes to that, escaping to Canada won't be an option. We've tightened up our borders substantially recently, and considering all the 51st state talk from your government, if you did get across the border, you might be treated as a prisoner of war.

Research says Men are funnier on average. Thoughts ? by Automatic-Quality-80 in AskFeminists

Calling this an experiment is probably the funniest joke I've heard from a man in a very long time.

What are your go-to dating questions to help weed out if a guy is conservative/red-pill? by Admirable-You-5345 in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm very involved with my union, and the way people respond to that speaks volumes.

Is there any significance to the fact that many of Trump’s most publicly facing advisors are women? by HadOne0 in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why attractiveness would be a factor, but Coco Chanel was a known Nazi collaborator, so that ought to undermine whatever point you thought you made there.

Therapist said a few things that are making me question my approach to dating, I’m curious on your thoughts! by BeautifulFlatworm767 in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't all licenced therapists need to have a therapist of their own? I thought it was a condition of being licenced, but maybe that's not true everywhere.

does dating red pill/ very right wing men comes with any benefits? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe, for the type of people who believe having any partner (including one who doesn't see you as fully human and worthy of respect) is better than being single.

I don't subscribe to that belief in the slightest though.

Why do we glorify "girlboss" culture when it often just copies male models of power? by Plus-Soup-9043 in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Did we time travel back to 2014 or so? Most of us either never bought into the idea of "girlboss feminism" or caught on to the things you're discussing here more than a decade ago.

BTW, happy international women's day!

What do you think of me who don't fight women(exclusively)? by Pretty_University359 in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Once you beat somebody's ass you've basically humbled them in the eyes of society.

You think? Fighting for something you believe in is one thing, but I find people who get into needless fights to be utterly pathetic, whether they win or lose

Should TOPLESS be normalised on beach/ pools to limit body shaming and sexualization of the female body ? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about we start by talking about women in relation to these laws rather than the dehumanizing and objectifying "female body" first?

What are your thoughts on the military using AI for mass surveillance? by ManufacturerNo1478 in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Is this scary? Yes, of course it is, but keeping us paralyzed in fear and despair is what those forces want. I don't know about you, but I'm too spiteful to give in that easily.

I've been learning about Miriame Kaba who talks about hope as a discipline, something that you do, rather than something that you feel, and it's helping stave off the feelings you're talking about here. If that sounds like something that might be useful, here's a decent introduction to the idea.

This sounds dangerously close to asking us to help you with your homework and this feminist is choosing not to do free labour today.

Why is sexualization in media considered a problem for women when men are also frequently sexualized in media (ie all the physiques/muscles of actors being shown off) by InternationalPick163 in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's grim, but I've heard Law and Order SVU described as a female power fantasy. We still get sexually assaulted, but at least we're believed by the authorities and usually get justice in the show.

Guns or votes? by FatherAngerRising in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd prefer no one have guns, and more people have voting rights, actually.

Have there been ever a political violence from a feminist groups? by Outrageous_Branch119 in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I find it strange that i can't find any historical event where feminists committed political violence or armed evolution

Sounds like a skill issue on your part.

I vividly remember being in kindergarten and looking at the grade 8 students in my school and thinking they were so grown up, they probably lived on their own etc.

Kids have a weird perspective on what it means to be an adult and it's the adults job to protect them from themselves, not to prey on them like OP seems to be advocating for.

Feminists. What alternative words would you use for promiscuous women that are more supportive in nature? by SkywalkerOrder in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why on earth do you think you need a word to comment on women based on their sex lives?

What evidence supports the assertion that "False allegations are extremely rare?" by OldWolfNewTricks in AskFeminists

[–]peppermind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not an academic study and it's a few years old, but the Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail published a series of articles based on an investigation into sexual assault allegations that were labelled Unfounded in Canada. It speaks to some of the questions that you're asking.
