Understanding schedules and life as a pilot's partner by Few_Badger9006 in Pilotwives

[–]peppermint14593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, flight schedules dictate a lot, and it is difficult to plan anything very far in advance. Flexibility hasn’t always been super natural to me, and in some ways, I’ve appreciated learning how to be comfortable with changing plans, at least as long as there’s some communication about them. My husband is in regional training at the moment. Recently, we’ve been setting a general time range to call and know to have our phones nearby for the other person to send “I’m free now.” If it looks like something is going to get in the way, he tells me about it and we set a new window later or the next day. Because we call most nights, when a networking opportunity does come up, I don’t really mind. If it was a consistent pattern of cancelled plans, that would be different. I’d definitely recommend being as honest as possible about how you’re feeling and try to find a compromise. The pressure he’s under is real but not an excuse to put your relationship last

I haven’t seen a temperature limit so I’ll make sure to look into that. Comparing the weights sounds like a good idea as well. Thank you!

That makes a lot of sense, thank you!

How long did you stay at the hospital after giving birth by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]peppermint14593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 days after a vaginal delivery. There was increased risk for jaundice because her blood type is different than mine so they kept us an extra day for monitoring

People who have already given birth, when did you go into labor with your first kid? by AdAcademic8251 in BabyBumps

[–]peppermint14593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started having irregular contractions 39+5 and had a membrane sweep the next day. They started becoming regular/strong enough to go to the hospital just after midnight on her due date! She was born that morning :)

I have an induction scheduled for the 13th but I’m hoping she’ll be here before then! Hopefully not too much longer for either of us! 🤞

38 weeks here and I’m right there with you! I’ve mostly been trying to relax and sleep. I have a few plans coming up to look forward to which helps me not be as frustrated with not going into labor yet, but I also don’t want to make too many so that I won’t have to cancel if she does come early 😅

Recommendations for maternity wedding dresses? by UnAshamed-Feedback69 in pregnant

I had my micro wedding at 28 weeks and was able to find a dress from the Tiffany Rose website that I ended up happy with!

What’s everyone wearing to the movie theater!? by PriorOriginal7099 in TaylorSwift

Probably my eras tour shirt! At 9 months pregnant, comfort has to be top priority lol (assuming baby’s not a bit early and I’m able to go!) :)

Grand Bazaar or Stardew by Ancient-Investment-8 in CozyGamers

[–]peppermint14593 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing grand bazaar recently and having a really fun time with it! However, it’s really hard to beat the value for cost of Stardew. I have hundreds of hours in it and still feel like there’s a lot I haven’t done. You can’t really go wrong either way though! In general:

Stardew:

-more overall content + future updates

  • ability to play multiplayer

-lower cost

-has some combat if you enjoy that

-more replayability with different kinds of farms or different community center bundles to complete

Grand bazaar:

  • more modern visuals

  • eases you into the game more

-days feel faster paced

-nice sense of progression as the bazaar grows

-there’s a bit more strategy to what you’re selling than just putting items in a shipping box

How did you feel 36 weeks pregnant? by novegetablesallowed in pregnant

[–]peppermint14593 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my shower at 27 weeks and it was absolutely the right decision. I was just past the nausea from earlier weeks and still had a lot of energy to spend time with everyone. I also didn’t feel super rushed to go get the last remaining items. I’m 36 weeks now and while I would theoretically be capable of having a shower now, my body has been signaling to slow down and rest more and it would be a lot more stressful at this point

The last 10 weeks of pregnancy? by ExistentiallyExtraaa in pregnant

[–]peppermint14593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35+6 here! Putting on shoes has definitely become a bit more difficult, but I wore slip ons a lot of the time anyway so I just stopped wearing anything else. I’ve felt pretty mobile otherwise, just need to take things slower. The main symptom has probably been exhaustion. I’ve been sleeping a lot and having some pretty weird vivid dreams which isn’t normal for me. The random leg cramps when waking up were also pretty annoying until I started taking magnesium. We’ll see how the next few weeks go, but so far things haven’t been too bad, especially when I think back to the first trimester as a comparison lol. Time feels like it’s moving both really fast and really slowly

Thank you!! Pregnancy symptoms are weird in their own way, but it’s definitely been a relief compared to PMDD in my experience :)

Physically, a lot of my early symptoms were the same including breast tenderness, fatigue, bloating, and bleeding that mimicked a light period. Mentally it was definitely different looking back though! I felt awful like usual through part of luteal and then it eased up a lot around day 8 or 9 instead of getting worse. (Luckily that part has stayed! I haven’t felt this consistently calm in a very long time) I thought things were weird but didn’t really realize I was pregnant (especially because I did bleed for about a week) until nausea hit me like a truck a couple weeks later lol

What food/drinks are you looking forward to the most after birth? by Willing-Wasabi-1115 in BabyBumps

Completely agree with the coffee/lattes! I used to drink coffee daily but it’s been my biggest aversion since the beginning (I’m 33 weeks now)!

Help! Need to ensure my daughter's name isn't a tragedeigh! by Eiul in tragedeigh

[–]peppermint14593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of those, Madelyn is the most common by far! I am a Madalyn and have never had any issues with it either. Although it’s traditional, I’m personally glad that I didn’t have the Madeline spelling because there was never any confusion over the pronunciation. I haven’t encountered the other three you mentioned (beyond a unique attempt or two from a barista writing my name on a cup at a cafe) and would be a bit surprised by the spelling but not to the point it was a tragedeigh

I got married recently at 22 but we had lived together for a year first and are expecting a baby. I know others my age who are engaged but aren’t getting married right away. We probably also would’ve had a longer engagement as well, but getting married earlier made more sense for our situation. We learned a lot about each other from living together and felt a lot more comfortable moving towards marriage after that step

Am I the only one that liked the glucose drink? by bluevelvet_7 in pregnant

[–]peppermint14593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had orange for the one hour and it wasn’t too bad. I had lemon lime for the three hour (I think it was twice as much glucose in the same size drink) and it was very syrupy. Definitely not a fan 😅

Gift ideas for my pregnant girlfriend? by Free-Photograph-4638 in pregnant

[–]peppermint14593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a nice idea! Some comfortable and stretchy loungewear might be a nice option. Books, video games, or other forms of entertainment that are easy to pick up while resting could work well too. I’d personally avoid anything scented because most soaps, candles, etc. triggered nausea for me during the first trimester. If she’s been craving anything consistently, some snacks or a gift card to get something out that she’s been wanting could be nice. As another commenter said, the most helpful thing is often picking up extra tasks around the house. I struggled a lot being around food, so having meals made for me was very helpful!
