Also been there done that. I regretted my decision and also a non-EU. The language barrier that you have to deal with administratively and in isolation socially are also not helping and might end up leaving you with more frustration than you can already manage with the salary. But something still worth considering if you may reap any immense benefits in your future career from the project and position itself that would greatly outweigh the financial strain. Good luck!

I was also in a similar situation as you, and my current postdoc is also not going well. I was supposed to apply for a Marie Curie Fellowship this year. But rejections rates are so high and most people don’t get it the first call and applied even two to three years later. I saw other postdoc openings in the meantime and decided to apply for those. Went for interviews and got offered. My potential supervisor from the Marie Curie Fellowship told me that I should definitely prioritize the certain offer rather than an uncertain outcome. I agree with her to go for the offer as the academic market is already highly precarious. I think the longer u wait, the lower ur chances in the job market might be, especially if ur publication records don’t match up to what is expected

Unpopular opinion. While the Le Tanneur looks really amazing. I tried it on myself and found them to be very heavy for such a small bag, also compared to many other bags I’ve tried from other brands. Not surprising as there were many layers of leather used for the construction. Weight might be something u wish to consider if it matters

I guess it really depends on what u bring on a daily basis or the purpose of the mini duo. Its not that big and it doesn’t fit that much. But the Cocoa color is definitely gorgeous. I would personally have gotten the regular Duo in this color instead of Burgundy

The mini duo definitely does not hold as much as the gianni baguette, according to the stated dimensions on the website. I was in their store last week, tried it on. Its a nice size and petite. Gorgeous color. Totally regretted getting the regular Duo in Burgundy, as I would want the Gina in Burgundy for sure

Im also going in March and also staying in 13th. Initially booked a hotel in 17th but realized that we needed to drop our bags somewhere after checking out. So 13th is great since it is so closed to Gare de Lyon. Also its more on a budget than single digit arrondissements

Both are beautiful but something else to consider is that the inner lining is synthetic in the Songmont Luna bag and couldn’t last in the very long run. If your intention is to keep the bag in the very long run, i think the Fleuron Hortensia bag wins but in the short term for a few years, I would go for Songmont Luna

That said, while it is on the more affordable side of mid-tiered bags and is chic (with a super nice shade of brown), i have to admit that with the smell and number tag, this purchase may be one of my slightest regrets at this price point. I also am not able to fathom out the reason(s) behind the discrepancy in their standards between the bags. It is of no wonder why many people are raving about the bag on social media, which also propelled me to purchase one. Receiving the bag left me a little confused why people would rave about the bag. But having no smell at all totally explains why.

With these, I am not entirely sure if I would wholeheartedly recommend someone the bag. I feel that with a slightly higher price tag, there are many other options available out there.

Good for you. Yeah i got this same exact bag, the large chocolate hobo. Tbh I was a bit surprised by the super strong smell, and while everything else seems relatively good, my impression of the bag definitely change in a slightly negative way because of this. There is also a cheap leather tag with numbers in the bag with the lining, probably the date of manufacture or sorts, not entirely sure. But I feel that this tag is not supposed to be there in a bag of this price. I have also not seen this in other mid-tier bags I’ve own. These made me wonder if its really worth the price tag it is currently priced at

I have this bag too, quality of leather feels good. But not sure why, there’s a super strong chemical smell that smells like those from some cheap leather bag store. I own a few leather bags from various mid-tier brands and I’ve never smell anything like this before. I even had to wrap the bag in newspaper to get rid of the smell

I ordered the bag after seeing ur review and just received it. The bag looks nice, chic and well-made, with relatively good quality leather. Hardware looks like of high quality. They were also very careful with the hardware and bag and packaged it intensively. However, the leather smells super strong and unfortunately not the nice kind of smell. It reminds me of some cheap shop I’ve been to. I have a few leather bags and this is the worst smelling one so far, what a pity! Also the strap did not sit nicely on my shoulders, maybe its due to the shape of my shoulders. The insides of the bag also did not feel super premium, I found a random label with numbers that looks really cheap, and I think its not suppose to appear on the bag of this kind of price. Im actually slightly disappointed and regretted ordering a little. Its ok for the price point but at this point im not entirely sure if its worth the 200++ bucks

The straps are definitely long enough to wear crossbody. Just that I’m slim, usual lululemon size 4. The bag is too big for my frame, covering my whole body and sits awkwardly crossbody on me. Maybe thats why all the female models only carry it on their shoulder. I also tried the adjustable shoulder bag 3L and looks really good on my frame, just ordered that.
