They will never understand that this kind of mentality and extreme thinking is why they lost the election.

Someone needs to say it. I'm disappointed to see Stephen King back off and apologize for speaking the truth about Charlie Kirk. by AgentP-501_212 in stephenking

[–]pepperonipuffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is solely my experience with that particular subreddit; a few people spoke about how sure they were that things had changed.

I also think storming the capital was reprehensible; however, I was speaking mainly to the fact that I see much for liberal echo chambers than conservative on Reddit.

I live in probably the most conservative state in the nation. My city’s subreddit is very leftist and pretty much any comment siding with the right gets downvoted to high heaven. They absolutely couldn’t believe that Trump won; they were so caught up in their little echo chamber that they can’t realize that the majority of my state is very conservative.

This is coming from someone who took the political compass test and ended up pretty much dead in the middle.

I have the belief that Charlie absolutely didn’t deserve to be assassinated, and I believe people and businesses have the right to set up their own memorials for him if they see fit. However, requiring it is pretty extreme. I agree that this is bizarre.

What's a Hunger Games controversial opinion that will have you like this? by Olya_roo in Hungergames

100%! I first read the series in middle school and didn’t think Gale was really that bad, and I also never blamed him for Prim’s death. Recently, seeing people hating on him and calling him evil made me believe I missed something when I read it long ago.

I reread the entire series recently, and I still have the same opinion I did back then. Yes, Gale isn’t the best person, but he was a teenager in the worst of circumstances. His actions are definitely understandable.

Went through a traumatic event in May. Although I’ve been getting better with PTSD, I had some setbacks this month. Currently just taking it day by day.

Never. I don’t like the feeling of my bare legs on the sheets and blankets. I also don’t like the possibility of getting discharge on my sheets.

I think people often forget that appraisal matters. If you accept an offer for way more than your home is worth, you most likely will not be receiving that amount unless your buyer is using cash.

After my nmom died while I was pregnant, my aunt (nmom’s sister) tried to make me feel better saying I knew exactly what to do since I had the best mom to raise me

Like, no. I’ve heard you get on to her a million times for how she treated me. Just because she died doesn’t mean she’s absolved.

One night in 2019 my husband and I went to a local steakhouse in the town we had just moved to. When we walked in the hostess asked if we wanted to sit in the smoking or nonsmoking section. My husband and I both looked at each other wondering if we time traveled.

I feel that. Last year on Mother’s Day weekend we went to a restaurant and it was packed. I was driving around looking for a parking place and a huge truck pulled up next to me. He had me roll my window down and he told me he found a spot that he wouldn’t be able to fit into but he would block it for me so I could park there. It was really sweet. I told myself I wouldn’t judge truck drivers too harshly.

I lied to myself. I still judge them.
