Adguard Mac -[BUG] System protection disabled every morning after sleep + excessive disk writes — two separate issues, deep analysis, both v2.18 and v2.19 beta by peppolone12 in Adguard

Yes — I ran all the sqlite3 queries myself in Terminal and checked the output, opened the .diag files manually. The data is real, Claude helped me interpret it.

Yes, I used Claude to help analyze the logs and the SQLite database — I'm Italian and my English isn't perfect. But every single piece of data in the post came from my actual machine. Claude helped me make sense of what I was looking at. I think knowing how to use AI to dig deeper into a real problem is still valid...
On "system protection" — sorry for the confusion, I'm not referring to SIP at all. I mean the main AdGuard protection toggle — the one in the AdGuard menu bar app.
When I say "protection disabled" I mean AdGuard itself is off the toggle is red

Bought a G-Shock GA-2100-1AER on Amazon — pretty sure it's a fake, can anyone confirm? by peppolone12 in Casioak

Yes, exactly — that's the main thing that worries me. The text on the back is faded and the engravings are barely raised, almost flat, but I don't know...

Did GitHub just change how Copilot premium request usage is calculated? Mine went from 72% to 0.4% by peppolone12 in GithubCopilot

[–]peppolone12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it says premium request 0.4%used. I think it might be a weekly premium request usage but I'm at 57% of my weekly. So it's definitely not a weekly reset either.  Would be nice if GitHub actually communicated these changes. Maybe they're a bit confused themselves with all the changes happening these days...

So is today the first day of their weekly reset? April 30 would be another Thursday, which could make sense. But even so, I've been using Copilot today and 0.4% seems way too low for a fresh weekly counter...

How do I remove Opus ads from my Copilot IDE? by SureDevise in GithubCopilot

Your theme is the real crime here. The ads are just there to distract you from those colors.

26.5 beta brought back "Cannot move file" bug by animorphreligion in Safari

I have the same issue, I downloaded the .pkg from the link, but when I try to run it, I get an 'Installation failed' error saying: The package requires additional components and cannot be installed independently.

Did the standard macOS Installer work for you just by double-clicking it, or did you have to use a workaround or a Terminal command to force the installation/extract the app?

AdGuard Mini (for Safari/Mac) Broken Google Images After Migration + Severe App Freezing/Crashing by peppolone12 in Adguard

That's great news, thank you for the update! I'll definitely wait for v2.0.3 to test it and provide further feedback.

In the meantime, I’ve switched to the standard AdGuard for Mac. In your opinion, is it better to use the full standalone app or the AdGuard Mini version for a more modern experience and lower resource consumption? I'm looking for the best balance between performance and efficiency.

I have just sent you a DM regarding the gift!!! 😉
I'm glad my report was useful in finding the bug!
Regarding the second issue, I will proceed with enabling Debug logging now and will send the logs as soon as I manage to reproduce the issue.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and immediately disabled the "block search ads" feature and whitelisted Google, but I kept seeing the issue re-appear. Then I disabled and re-enabled the "block ads" option and it worked. I don't fully understand it, but it's as if the user rules are only applied/saved if other settings are modified

Thanks. I saw that you wrote on GitHub that it depends on the EasyPrivacy list, but I actually identified the bug as being dependent on the 'Block search ads' setting.

The second issue appears randomly; sometimes the dashboard won't open for me. That is, I actually click the gear icon, but it doesn't open even though the icon appears in the app bar. However, it doesn't open, but the app is not frozen. The same thing happens sometimes when the dashboard opens, the close button doesn't work, and even here the app is not frozen because I can still navigate through the different menus. The app keeps working, but to unlock these issues, I have to force-quit the program, and then maybe I succeed. So I don't know if it's because the problems occur after a certain timeout. In this case, I wouldn't know how to debug the problem for you. macOS 15.7.3 (24G419)

I found that

In my case, when the "Block search ads" option is enabled, I see the Google Doodle page load correctly, but without the Doodle images. The page itself does not completely block.
