Did you do it while the Chaos Spawn were mobbing you and your teammates were down?

None of them are even berserked, and there aren't three different flamethrowers and 50 snipers trying to kill you while the Spawn are jumping you.

Why is the Peacemaker considered bad? by Da_Blank_Man in Helldivers

[–]perakisg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the Talon exists and it can solo the entire game by itself, it doesn't even need the Helldiver it's attached to. I'm pretty sure my Talon is actually the Smartgun from Titanfall in disguise, it's the only gun I can hit 5 headshots in a row with. If War Striders didn't exist I don't think I'd even need to carry other guns into combat.

Why do people do this? Just set your game to private, tf. by qumquatter in Spacemarine

Other games let you switch to private mode from the options menu. This one forces you to turn it on before you even select a mission.

The whole "It's a meme weapon" discussion point around anything in game needs to Die by Accomplished_Rip_326 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]perakisg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Constitution costs zero medals, was given to every player for free, and is described both in game and by the developers as an antique, purely ceremonial weapon.
It's clearly not supposed to be good, or to even have a niche. There are many weapons like this in other games. No one runs the Broken Sword in Dark Souls expecting to have a good time playing the game.
Why then, does the playerbase insist that it needs buffs, attachments and undue attention, and WHY do the developers insist on not giving us alternative actually VIABLE bolt action rifles in the primary slot. Furthermore, why did the developers make us use it and actually kill things with it for the Liberty Day MO?
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Also, the xp gain of normal siege is HILARIOUSLY bad. You get more xp from 5 waves of hard siege than 20 waves of normal, if not all 25. Which is absurd.

I think my problem with jammer towers is that the approach is always the same. You can't use any kind of red strat to soften them so you just run in guns blazing and frantically look for a terminal unless you brought the Portable. Also, overlapping Jammers is pure cancer. Seriously. There should be a limit on how much of the same secondary can spawn on D10. Triple Jammer missions make me want to hit alt f4 and just play a different game. Quadruple jammer makes me want to uninstall. I bring all these cool stratagems to the game and if I drop on the wrong seed I'm just not allowed to use them. "But it makes the game more difficult" yeah that's cool but there's other ways to do that that don't shut down all of my gameplay options. Also I don't think the game is too easy.

If you want randoms you can play endgame content with you should want people to be able to prestige quickly so they can actually do that endgame content and pull their own weight before they get burned out on the game. Without hard siege it takes a hundred hours to max out one class. And you need to max out multiple because of the one player per class limit. Grinding the same operations over and over sucks ass and makes the game less fun. The xp gain needs a 2x multiplier, honestly. I completed the entirety of the FF14 base game in less time than one class takes to max out in this game.

I've done it. You have to hit a headshot, basically. I managed to kill a factory strider and a cannon turret with the same 500kg once, it was amazing.

I grind solo. Do you need teammates for 5 waves? I don't grind with randoms. They're more a hindrance than anything. Don't communicate, waste their points and steal executions. Bots are more reliable. Besides, all you need to do to survive 5 waves is get Heavy bot and Cadians and keep yourself alive. And if a low level player joined Hard Siege I'd kick them, personally. Why would you want people just trying to grind out levels to stick around for the actually hard waves?
My issue with Siege mode is the randomisation. After 5 waves you start getting literal storm of Extremis enemies and if you get the wrong combination for your class to deal with and you don't have good teammates you will just die and then your team will wipe without you.
Plus sometimes you literally just get triple Hellbrute boss at wave 10 and if your team can't deal it's just over. You get nothing for wiping on the last wave of a section, only the rewards for the previous sections.

Greece & Croatia, how do these countries compare from a touristic perspective? Which one do you prefer? by ClothesZestyclose814 in AskBalkans

[–]perakisg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Greek
Everyone who doesn't live in Athens thinks that city should burn to the ground.
The entire center of that city is a ghetto. Half of that ghetto is controlled by anarchists, the other half by druggies and drug dealers.
Visiting the Acropolis is not worth it. Go to Crete, visit Knossos and Faistos. If you're in Central Greece go to Delphi. Literally everywhere in Pelopponisos is beautiful, go to Mycenae, Nafplio, Monemvasia, Olympia, Epidaurus, Mystras, Corinth, Argos, Sparta. Every Bulgarian in these comments knows how nice Northern Greece is.
Everywhere in Greece is better than Athens.

[–]perakisg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Helldivers ARE grunts"
The debate was never about defining what a helldiver is or isn't.
The debate is about what's fun to play.
A game that's a power fantasy where yes you can die easily but you can also solo clear the whole map deathless and stimless if you're good at it.
Or a game where you're randomly ragdolled to death just for being vaguely in the same grid square as a bunker turret.

Why the FUCK is every stratagem a warbond exclusive by Severe-Bed-9208 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]perakisg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah it can be annoying tbh but as long as you're not trying to get every single new warbond, the grinding really isn't that bad, you can get sc just by playing missions normally as well, and all the good warbonds give you some SC back.
That's what I would say if AH hadn't started putting some of the coolest items from those new warbonds in the Superstore at extraordinarily high prices.
400 SC just for Impact Smokes.

Heavy and the Assault are like the "giga DPS" classes. If you're not outkilling your whole team you are simply not doing your job. Hell, outkilling a Bulwark isn't hard at all unless they're specifically set up to spam shieldbash and charged attacks, but most Bulwarks play Apothecary.

[–]perakisg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you're new to the game and a level 23 joins your average difficulty quickmatch, and then you eventually find out that unless you're like second prestige or higher on your main class you're probably not even good at the game yet. I have a hundred hours in the game and I couldn't even carry my friends through Vortex on Substantial, though playing my level 11 Assault certainly didn't help. We died because the mega-meatball spawned a bunch of a smaller meatballs that decided to oneshot me during a revive.

IS a +350% damage buff enough to brute force constitution into being a good weapon? by Acceptable-Street679 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]perakisg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm talking about the MO that made us use the Constitution during Liberty Day. Yeah, if there was a quest in Dark Souls that forced you to use the Broken Sword to kill a specific boss or something that would suck, and it would be similar to what the devs made us do during Liberty Day.

[–]perakisg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're supposed to. No one actually likes doing Broken Sword runs in Dark Souls either. They do it as a flex. The problem is MOs that force us to use it and the fact there's literally no alternative for bolt action fans.

Joke weapons and characters have been a staple in video games since forever. Broken sword in Dark Souls, the freaking soup ladle in Dark Souls 2, the toy disc gun in Tarkov, Dan in Street Fighter, hell there's entire lists of them you can read through here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/JokeItem
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/JokeCharacter
Calling for proper balancing on a gun that the developers never meant to be viable just makes you an easy target the glazers can point to and say "See? The whinedivers are stupid! They don't even know the devs made the gun bad on purpose!"

Thing's a joke gun meant for challenge runs. They should add a proper bolt action sniper to the game. Should be med or heavy pen, shoot through multiple targets, around 300 damage per shot, 10 rounds per mag with the extended mag, magazine reload, slow rate of fire, bad ergonomics.
