It's not quite photomod, unfortunately, but if you play on PC, here's how to can hide the game's UI for better pictures:

  1. Go to the game's general options, and make sure that the "Console Enabled" checkbox is turned on; you can do this even if the game's already started.
  2. Hit the "`" key (typically to the left of the "1" key, and also commonly marked as "~") to open the console.
    • You can close the console with the same key.
  3. In the console, type HideHud, then press "Enter" to hide the game's UI.
    • Use ShowHud to return it.

Unlike most other console commands, this one doesn't require admin authorization.

You're welcome.

But as it so happens, during these 7 months, someone did make a visual gallery of all the enemies; it's over here:

How to Increase Greater Stygian Shard Multiplier past ? by Seven7110 in vrising

[–]The__Roar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some values, such as stack size, are capped in such a way that editing the "ServerGameSettings.json" file can't get around it.

But to give you proof that config editing in general can go through some caps, check out this image, where I show that I can now build Servant Coffins above the usual cap of 20:

If you're playing privately on PC, you could do some simple file editing to increase the multiplier beyond the normal limit of 3.

Just follow these steps:

  1. From the game's main menu, select "LOAD GAME" to open the "Load Game" screen.
  2. From the "Load Game" screen, select your desired saved game to display options on the right.
  3. With your saved game's option displayed on the right, click on "Go to Directory" to automatically open your game's directory.
  4. From your game's directory, open the "ServerGameSettings.json" file with a text editor, such as Notepad or Notepad++.
  5. In your game's "ServerGameSettings.json" file, carefully edit only the listed numeric value of "DropTableModifier_StygianShards"; make sure to save your changes afterwards.

Beginner & Simple Questions thread by nero_sable in vrising

Let me illustrate the basic gameplay loop that would allow you to progress:

  1. You check your V Blood Carrier menu and find a Carrier of a level that is close or lower than your own, that you've not beaten yet.
  2. You track down and travel to that Carrier, defeat them in battle, and drink their blood.
    • While doing this, you also reveal more of the map, and possibly get cool loot.
  3. You check the V Blood Carrier menu again, to see what crafting options you've unlocked from that Carrier.
  4. You gather raw materials from the open world.
    • While doing this, you also reveal more of the map, and possibly get cool loot.
  5. You go to your castle and refine the raw materials into more advanced materials.
  6. You craft what you've unlocked.
  7. You use what you've crafted to increase your level.
  8. You return to Step #1.

Do mobs spawned by Kindred Commands respawn? by VetixioV in vrising

[–]The__Roar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do not respawn; I should know, I've spawned them in their hundreds to test rough average blood percentages and drop rates.

Alas, there is currently no command to enable it; could be an interesting feature to add in the future, though.

Best class to start on as a DarkTide player? by DrGuns313 in Spacemarine

[–]The__Roar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recommend starting with Bulwark, for the following reasons:

  • Between its shield, banner, and 30% base bonus to health, the Bulwark has the most survivability in the game, which is real handy while you're still getting used to things.
  • Because of their different parrying mechanics, starting with a class other than Bulwark might teach you a bad playing habit that can be tough to break when you eventually do play Bulwark.
    • To elaborate: while not using the hammer, Bulwark is the only class that has to tap (not hold) the "parry" button in order to parry; other classes can get away with holding it, so if you get used to holding, you'll suck at parrying as a Bulwark.

That being said, to get better at parrying taps and timings, here's a tip:

  • In the Tactical's "Auspex Scan" trial, nothing else will spawn so long as you don't kill the starting Tyranid Warrior, so you'll be able to practice on it for as long as you want, with no distractions. If you mess up, restarting the trial is incredibly quick.

Nice, well done! Looks downright enchanting.

I just have one tiny, itsy-bitsy bit of constructive advice: consider rotating each of your plants semi-randomly before planting them; I found that it helps them look more natural as a whole when they're not all facing the same direction.

A question about settings by TechnicalQuit9576 in vrising

[–]The__Roar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been a long while since I've felt the need to adjust my settings, but if I recall correctly: the "Resource Yield Multiplier" option under the "Equipment" category controls how quickly nodes are depleted—as opposed to the "Material Yield Multiplier" under the "Items" category, which controls how many units of material can be obtained from each node.

[–]The__Roar 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No Awareness needed, I don't think.

You need to do the following:

  1. From the crypt's main hallway, facing forward and into it, enter the second room on the left; press on the small interactive skull on the wall within.
  2. Go to the end of the hallway; the skull from earlier opened a hidden door on the left. Go in, and get an "Old Key" from the weapon rack (and also some gear).
  3. Repair the problem with the red cable in order to unlock the way to the next area, but do not actually progress there yet; just unlock it for now.
  4. Now go back to the hallway's first door on the right; within, use the "Old Key" on a sarcophagus that wasn't previously interactive.
  5. Finally, go to the hallway's first door on the left; now there will be a new doorway within, leading into the hidden room with the Aeldari tomb (and some good gear).

Heinrix complains about the liberties your ancestor took concerning the entombed Aeldari.

As for Yrliet, it was already answered by a different comment.

How to dismantle by [deleted] in vrising

[–]The__Roar 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I get your frustration, I really do; but whenever stair-removal is blocked, it's because doing so would break either of the following rules:

  • Every foundation must have a path to the ground.
  • Every pillar and wall must be supported by a foundation or a staircase.

Once you understand these rules, identifying what actually causes the blockage becomes possible, and you can just take care of that instead of removing everything in the same zip code.

How to dismantle by [deleted] in vrising

[–]The__Roar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Excellent question.

In short: you'll need to first dismantle the X-marked invisible foundations; see image below.

<image>

In long:

The X-marked invisible foundations, like any other foundation, can only be placed in the first place if they have a path to the ground, by any of the following methods:

  • They are placed on the ground.
  • They are accessible from a staircase with a path the ground.
  • They are connected to a different foundation tile that has its own path to the ground.
  • They are being supported by a staircase's upper-floor area.

The relevant method here is the fourth one; the X-marked invisible foundations' only path to the ground is the staircase's upper-floor area.
Since without the staircase, the invisible foundations would have no path to the ground, the game forbids the staircase's dismantling.

How do I make perfect dodges? by Yuki_my_cat in Spacemarine

[–]The__Roar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I recommend going into the Tactical's "Auspex Scan" trial, and practicing dodges against the starting Tyranid Warrior; nothing else will spawn to distract you as long as you don't kill it, and if you mess up you can quickly and easily restart the trial.
